Will copy paste most of the reply I wrote elsewhere because this post makes sense.
This phase of their relationship is not a constant thing that has been happening since the beginning of her marriage. It’s now that this has started especially post Pari’s marriage, to be more specific since Tulsi gave her statement in favour of Ajay and his family. So this is not a 4 decade long thing but more like a 4 month thing that’s why she’s quiet. She thinks this is another rough patch in the marriage. Mihir is not Anupama’s husband who has only insulted her for decades. So the thing about not running away is not even applicable here.
You don’t end a 4 decade long marriage for a 4 month rough patch. Certainly not when it has survived worse in the past, and not just once but a number of times.
He has been played by his own daughter; and doesn’t think she’s capable of being so malicious. So while his reaction is extreme it’s not surprising given that he is her father. The actual surprise here is that this reaction exists for an adopted daughter who is actually related by blood to Tulsi, not the other way around.
Mihir has been brainwashed, he’s angry but at this point he’s not behaving like this out of some misplaced belief of superiority. He has been egged on by Pari, Noyna and now this is bad timing for Angad again and here even Angad is to blame. He had exposed Mittali in the past but decided to give her multiple chances despite everything, then runs away on D-day. Why not stick to his guns since when he exposed her? Why run away and now expect mom to face the music and handle dad? Why not stay there and deny to marry Mittali and expose her gambling addiction and her ghost drama?
He wants to take the responsibility of a girl and marry her but expects his mom to take the heat on his behalf. Why not start taking responsibility by making sure you stand up to your dad for yourself in your own home?
He fell for Mittali’s lies and schemes multiple times too and allowed her the chance to do this because somewhere he didn’t want to seem like the bad guy. The only difference is that before Mittali was supposed to come across as the one at fault here, the one to blame; now it just happens to be Tulsi.
For all his faults, Mihir didn’t do this to anyone when he eloped with Tulsi. He didn’t act like an idiot and trust Payal after he decided to end their engagement, he didn’t expect Savita to take the heat from Mansukh or ditch Payal at the altar. He was taking responsibility for his actions which were similar back then all those years ago. And even then he wasn’t alone when getting married to Tulsi, iirc, his cousins were with him barring one who he wasn’t particularly close to. But IIRC Hemant, Chirag, Kiran were at the Mandir when he married Tulsi.
So yes, this post makes sense because we aren’t seeing a man abuse his wife since decades, ever since the beginning of their marriage. But this is a marriage that has endured this the MIL scheming against the bahu, this man being presumed dead, multiple women throwing themselves at him, his own infidelity that led to an illegitimate son, her killing one of their sons and his mother.
They have raised a family together, have supported each other and suffered through Gautam’s loss once he was kidnapped, have mourned people they loved and lost together. Have been through the grind.
Mihir was not buying the end the marriage thing until Kiran started talking about it too. He thinks his brother can’t be so wrong and wouldn’t wish ill of him when he said those things, what he fails to take into account is that, that very brother is projecting his own failures on Mihir too. He is not taking into account that Kiran is drinking and has spoken of stress and loneliness leading him to the same. Misery loves company and Kiran subconsciously is hoping his brother joins him because why not?It will be interesting to see if they dive deeper into this.
Mihir’s fault here is letting others get to him, one by speaking as a brother, another as a friend. One by flattering his ego and another by assuming that just as his marriage was bound to fail so should his brother’s.
Kiran says he pays an alimony to his ex and that keeps the both of them happy. But we have seen his version of happiness for what it is already. The problem is Mihir in his current mindset is unable to do so.
Kiran alimony pay kise kar reha hai? Aarti ko yaa Mandira ko yaa dono ko
So if a man gets divorced n times then he has to pay alimony to n number of ladies
Im sorry to say this; yet Mihir is not a dhood pita bacha who doesnt have his own mind or cant think for himself. For me he is a lot to blame for his partial behavior towards others and not having an open mind to what Tulsi has been saying. He thinks he is right and Tulsi is wrong and that's the trend I've been witnessing on this season especially. Ur defending Mihir yet in my eyes he doesn't have a leg to stand on due to his own foolishness and andh vishwas on Noyna and Pari.
The criticism he is getting is totally justified and Amarji reposting a story defending Mihir was hilarious as look at Mihir has to introspect his own fault before pointing fingers at others.
Also ur saying Mihir eloping to Marry Tulsi and Angad eloping to marry Vrinda aren't the same? They are identical for me as they both ELOPED to marry the girl they love, no matter consequences of their action.
Apologies for my blunt answers yet don't agree with a lot of your points hence wanted to give my own thoughts now.

I think he meant Aarti. He said he’s working in the US, so from that money.
I don’t think he’s supposed to pay Mandira, given that their marriage itself was a sham and she faked her identity. Besides last we saw her in S1 she was an absconding criminal who had kidnapped Parth from prison. However are you supposed to pay someone on the run?
If he did for some reason and she was stupid enough to withdraw or spend that money then her location would have been tracked and she would have been arrested, AGAIN
So I think it’s only Aarti. If she hasn’t remarried and is still alive, then I think he is obligated to pay her especially if she’s not as financially stable and secure as him or is unemployed or has some disability.
The terms would have been decided by the court of the country where they filed for divorce based on the laws of that country.
I think we are told that they divorced in Australia and I am certainly not well versed with Australian divorce laws nor do I know they filed for divorce on what grounds to hazard a guess or their legal status in the country. Whether they were divorced as legal immigrants or Australian citizens because there could be differences per those grounds too regarding how the judgement was served and the divorce agreement settled.

Mihir is to blame definitely here.
I am no fan of his at the moment at all but I am trying to understand his character.
At the moment he’s supposed to make us angry and that’s why he’s being this awful.
What I am trying is not to justify him or forgive him or excuse his behaviour but rather trying to understand the situation in a manner that explains why he is behaving the way he is at the moment. His behaviour is not justified by any means but it is a rather fascinating study in human behaviour and psychology. How people can be fooled so easily by those they trust blindly like their friends or how someone can be manipulated into believing that someone pretending to be their friend is really an enemy in disguise. How someone playing a victim card can be evil sometimes and their intentions are not easily understood. How men, regardless of their age can fall into the trap of playing heroes and male egos. How manipulation can be so subtle that it can lead you to hurt people who you have known all your life.
By all means, bash Mihir and hate him. Be my guest and join me on the bandwagon.
I simply am a fan of understanding characters and their motivations. As someone who has in the past written stories for shows that she’s followed that comes with the territory and I can’t help myself.
Also yes, Mihir eloping with Tulsi was a different thing than Angad Vrinda. For starters, Mihir married Tulsi after calling off his engagement with Payal, he went against his mother’s wishes and had the gall to do it without hiding behind anyone. He didn’t mind looking like the bad guy who would end his engagement to marry another girl when he did it. He also didn’t ditch Payal at the mandap.
Angad didn’t want to look like the bad guy. For reasons beyond comprehension his aim was to make Mittali call off the engagement in some ludicrous fantasy that it would save her reputation somehow. Then he believed her and waited until D- Day. When he saw she was gonna trap him he chose to flee the house and even as he’s getting married to Vrinda he says he hopes his mom will help them out of this situation. He ended up being the bad guy regardless of what he planned and hoped for and in the process ended up making things worse for his mom.
He could have faced Mihir and denied to marry Mittali. He could have exposed her lies and addiction, but he didn’t and kept it to himself and only told her family. Even when he grew suspicious of her and felt she was staging an act he didn’t involve ANYONE from his family. Not even the brother he had confided in regarding his feelings for Vrinda before anyone else.
Mihir didn’t elope like this with Tulsi. Everyone knew he had ended things with Payal. He didn’t give her multiple chances after he called it quits. Moreover, he married Tulsi and took full responsibility of his decision when it came to standing up to his mother and didn’t expect his father to shield him or soften the impact of his mother’s anger towards him and Tulsi. So yes, I stand by what I said, two completely different scenarios though they seem similar.
Mihir didn’t let anyone else take the fall for his choices, here Angad wanted Mittali to bail him out before and now hopes mom will help. Mihir didn’t resort to such things.
