Aish's relevance is through the movies she starred in and all the brand appearances she did (and may continue to do). However, her focus is on her daughter... (not really something I've a 'good' feeling about, but that's personal)

You don’t have a good feeling about someone focusing on their own daughter? Lol.
Aish should’ve just wrapped it up around 2010 while the legacy was still intact. After years of hype from fans and Pr about her grand comeback and getting her name attached to every big project, we got that green filtered movie… and that awful performance. Not that she was ever known for her acting, but whatever she did in the last decade really highlighted that reputation even more.

bold: There are different kinds of focus... and as I wrote, my not-good feeling is based on a personal impression.
I liked that Aish did the Ponniyin Selvan movies with Vikram and Mani, quasi as a closure of a career that started with Mani and Mohanlal. I'm also happy that she got an award at the IIFA for her performance. To me, somehow, it was like a nice end of her 26-year-career as an actress
She is 2nd richest Bollywood actress Without Bachchans money, her net worth is same as her father in law. Now think, does she really have to work unless she wants to work, she is clearly doing something to still be worth all this money.

Oh yes, that South Indian film, I always forget that one exists. I think Aish wanted to bow out on a high note. She had four releases in 2010, all flopped, and then the Heroine thing, pretty awful way to close a career. But even then, she still had that “legacy” aura around her.
Then she comes back with that B grade Sanjay Gupta movie and a couple of forgettable follow-ups, and it just looked awkward. Like, compare it to Priyanka. A proper event release. That’s what a comeback should feel like, no matter how the movie eventually performs.

Aishwarya Rai is the biggest anomaly in Bollywood that I have ever seen. She had a brilliant start with HDDCS/Taal, followed it up with average movies like Josh and HDAPH, did one big hit with Devdas, and then it took her years to get a hit in Dhoom 2 and Guru/JA. The career was the most inconsistent run by an actress in her time. Preity and Rani had consistency from day 1, not this beauty queen.
Aish came into the industry as an outsider... I'm sure she still is perceived as one despite all her efforts to become an integral part of it.
I know that there are people in the industry who don't want that someone who is perceived as an 'outsider' becomes a part of the 'inner circle' regardless of being successful or not.
