Back then the actors had no problem with ageing onscreen and playing parents, grandparents, something which aaj kal ke ‘popular faces’ could never dream of doing.

Those actors had to earn their popularity the hard way - by actually being good at their jobs regardless of the shade of their character. They even worked for longer hours and adjusted like cattle in a single makeup room and vanity van. Just hear their interviews.

Nowadays these people do small roles on shows for a few days and then start brand endorsements on Instagram where they easily purchase false subscribers to show their popularity.

There’s over-exposure with reels and what not, back then people were thrilled with SBB and SBS segments because we didn’t know what would happen on the show beforehand much without them and also you got a chance to know the actors as they are rather than the characters they played.

Now you just need to see who follows whom or who unfollowed whom on Instagram to know their interpersonal equations offscreen and all the reels take away the questions regarding their personalities because no one is being authentic in them. They’re just trying to look goofy, fun and entertaining.

Yup, but S2 was really good in the beginning, specifically the first two phases. Loved AnuPre there, specifically the first phase where they fell in love. Beautifully presented!

The first season was crap involving multiple marriages etc but in the following season, leads are more focused.

somehow the second season just didn’t click with me.

The Tulsi Munni scene was well done.

It did seem off when Tulsi was scolding her, kinda felt like she was forgetting that this is exactly how Savita treated her. But I’m glad that they made them have a heart to heart with that scene. Perhaps they could’ve included a little bit more about Munni’s reasons to chat with Hrithik using a fake identity but it seems like she might get a makeover and be back in the future when perhaps these things are addressed.

Also, both girls worked for the Viranis too prior to their marriages, similar to her.

But I like Vrinda more.....the other one I skipped entirely...

Makers should focus more on Vrindag..

I guess it also depends on how they have handled and shaped the male characters too. Angad comes across as the more confident and assured character than his younger brother who is very geeky, nerdy and doesn’t exactly scream cool, confident and macho.

Vrinda is paired opposite the main lead of this generation and has been allowed to look pretty and we have seen what she’s like as a person and so far she’s not raised any red flags. With Munni, the character was kept very simple so far; very in-line with her being a maid of the Viranis. She’s pretty too but she’s not yet been given the chance to come across as an attractive love interest. Plus given that we knew she was chatting with Hrithik and knew that he was falling for her online identity and yet continued to keep mum about everything made her a bit of a red flag. I think eventually it will be shown that she was genuinely shocked too, to discover Hrithik was her online friend. She didn’t intentionally seek him out but they connected coincidentally. Of course by the time she found her online friend was Hrithik, their online friendship had deepened into something more serious and she was already halfway in love with him; she couldn’t muster the courage and the confidence to come clean about her identity in front of Hrithik because of obvious reasons.

If the second leads are attractive, their story is definitely worth watching. To be honest, there's a missing spark and chemistry there, whereas Vridang looks like an attractive separate pairing and could even have their own show since the actors have good chemistry.

Even audience is loving Vrindag ❤️

They’ve purposely made these two underdogs, perhaps because representation matters?

Besides their romantic relationship is shown based on the concept of online dating. It figures if two introverted and socially awkward people would be more comfortable with a new person in such an environment rather than chase a person in person or muster up the courage to talk to someone that they find attractive.

I think their love story is meant to be more about shy people and those who have confidence issues also having dreams of love and romance and how even they can have a chance at them. But because no relationship can be a smooth sailing ride, they had to hit this tide. Hrithik has to work on his own biases and Munni has to work on her own worth as an individual.
