Chapter 14

of cos Maan's distant behavior hurts Geet

hate Sasha

ha ha daadima knows rattle Maan

as expected she suggested that Jai Singhania work with Geet

so Jai and Geet have a good working relationship

not surprised that Maan was jealous seeing them

Maan is indeed possessive

Geet's question was justified

sad that hurt Geet with his comments

well Geet stayed late and worked

Maan was correct

great that Geet was direct with Maan

pleased that she confronted Maan

Maan's reply was anticipated

good that Geet was upfront with Maan

Maan's thoughts were reasonable

now Geet is breaking his walls

Raj's concern for Geet was understandable

now he will speak to Maan

Chapter 15

of cos Maan was restless

he really misses Geet's presence

Maan's thoughts were reasonable

as expected Raj Kapoor went to see Maan

Maan indeed did not expect this

liked that Maan and Raj respect each other

admire how Raj approached the matter

great that Raj was direct with Maan

he was correct about Geet

he had a valid point

Geet is clearly talented and earned her stripes

Raj hit the nail on the block

agree with Raj that Geet being a Kapoor should not change anything

he did advise Maan as well

glad that he left Maan with a lot to ponder over

Raj's words impacted on Maan

Maan's fears were justified

now Maan spoke to Geet

so he conceded she was right

loved that he told that she does not have to prove herself harder

Geet's response was understandable

ahh Raj left Maan with the truth

hope Maan will face it soon

Chapter 16

Maan's thoughts were understandable

however he is judging Geet despite knowing her

the fact that she is Geet Kapoor should not cloud his judgment

she is same Geet that he admires and respects

upset seeing the distance between Maan and Geet

sad that he doubts Geet and feels that she is privileged and rich

he has worked with Geet and seen her dedication

why would she intern at KC when she could work in her own company

can he not see that she is fighting to create her own identity

glad that he saw Geet for what she is ... humble, simple, hard working and warm

now he is questioning everything he assumed

hate Sasha taunting Geet

of cos Geet was embarrassed

liked that Maan intervened and put Sasha in her place

great that he berated Sasha

at least Geet noticed that Maan's changed behavior

as expected daadima asks Maan about Geet

nice that Maan opened to daadima

pleased that he knows that Geet is different

daadima was correct

Maan thinks what daadima said

finally he realised that Geet's choices define her and not her surname

ahh she makes him feel humility, wonder and hope

loved Maan's note and acknowledgment to Geet

she got an apology, and respect as well

now she smiled....

Geet's thoughts were reasonable

Chapter 27 – Lines Between Work and Heart

Morning – KC Design Wing
Geet arrived early again, this time carrying a stack of sample boards for the heritage restoration project. Jai was already at her desk, spreading out architectural references.

“Morning, Geet. Ready to dive into marble vs. sandstone?” he teased lightly.
“Morning, Jai. Only if the stones cooperate,” she replied, smiling.

From his glass cabin, Maan watched silently. Every smile, every tilt of her head as she considered structural constraints, tugged at a corner of his heart he hadn’t allowed himself to acknowledge.

When Geet noticed him, she offered a polite nod. Maan returned it with measured calm, though inside he was anything but calm.

Midday – Jealousy Ignites
During a client call in the conference room, Geet and Jai had to explain the technical integration. Jai’s easy rapport and light humor drew laughter from the clients, and Geet’s eyes sparkled as she responded in kind.

Maan, seated at the head of the room, felt the familiar tightness in his chest. He wasn’t used to jealousy. Yet watching her lean in, laughing and conversing as if the weight of the world wasn’t on her shoulders, stirred an unfamiliar ache.

After the call, he approached quietly. “Geet, double-check the floor load calculations. Jai may have overlooked the diagonal stress points.”
“I already accounted for that,” she replied firmly. “Everything’s within safe parameters.”

Maan’s jaw flexed. He knew she was right, but the sharp edge in her tone — confident, precise — reminded him why she had unsettled him from the start. He said nothing, only nodded and walked away, leaving a small, charged silence behind.

Afternoon – A Gentle Acknowledgment
Later, in his cabin, Maan reviewed structural renderings. Geet knocked softly.
“Sir, the client requested a minor adjustment in the foyer design. I’ve drafted three options.”
“Leave them here,” he said, his voice quieter than usual. Then, almost reflexively, he added, “Your insight improves the clarity of these plans. Keep it up.”

Geet blinked, surprised. No reprimand, no tension — just acknowledgment. It was a small shift, but it carried weight.

Evening – Family Observation
Daadima invited Geet over under the guise of discussing KC’s community projects. Over tea, she gently prodded,
“You’ve been working closely with Maan lately, haven’t you?”
Geet flushed faintly. “We’ve been coordinating on the Gurgaon project.”
Daadima’s eyes twinkled knowingly. “And how do you find him outside the office?”
Geet chuckled lightly, careful. “He’s… disciplined. Focused. Very inspiring.”

Daadima smiled. “Yes. And very human. Don’t let your professionalism blind you to his moments of warmth. They’re rare, but genuine.”

Night – Rooftop Reflection
Later that night, Maan stepped onto the KC terrace. Geet’s desk was empty — she had left, but the quiet hum of the office still carried traces of her presence.

He closed his eyes, letting the cool night air brush against him. He realized: admiration had quietly shifted into something heavier, something more dangerous. It wasn’t just respect anymore — it was awareness of her in every motion, every thought, every heartbeat.

And for the first time, he admitted it to himself.

Chapter 29 – Confessions and Complications

A new project required Maan and Geet to collaborate late into the evening. Tension hummed beneath professionalism, each glance and touch of papers charged with unsaid emotions.

Jai noticed the intensity and pulled Maan aside lightly.
“You’re protective,” he teased. “It’s written all over your posture.”
Maan’s jaw tightened. “I’m her superior.”
“Right… that’s why you can’t stop checking her work?” Jai grinned.

Geet caught a snippet of their exchange later, cheeks flushing faintly. She sensed the undercurrent, though she still maintained her composure.

Maan finally spoke privately, as they reviewed designs.
“Geet… I may have been unfair before,” he said quietly. “About the Kapoor name, about… everything.”
She met his eyes, guarded. “I didn’t expect you to… judge me. But I also didn’t expect this silence.”
He exhaled. “You chose the hard path. You didn’t need to prove anything. But I… I failed to see that. I only saw the name.”

The honesty, so rare from him, left her stunned. For a heartbeat, the office felt small, intimate, and theirs.

Daadima organized a casual dinner at the mansion, subtly encouraging interactions between Geet and Maan outside the office.
Raj Kapoor noticed Maan’s lingering glances, while Yash and Naintara teased quietly about “the unspoken tension finally surfacing.”
Geet, meanwhile, realized her own awareness of Maan’s presence — the way he quietly ensured her comfort, noticed her preferences, and subtly protected her in conversation — was no longer professional admiration.

By the night’s end, Maan walked her to the car, the silence between them finally filled with mutual acknowledgment:
“You don’t have to hide from what you feel,” she said softly.
“I’m learning,” he admitted.

Chapter 30 – Quiet Wedding, Loud Hearts

The Proposal
It happened quietly, away from office prying eyes, during a weekend retreat. Maan had planned the moment with Daadima’s gentle guidance, choosing a secluded terrace overlooking a serene lake.

“Geet,” he began, voice low and steady, “I can’t offer you the life your family built… but I can promise this: respect, partnership, and honesty. I want to walk beside you, in work, in life, in everything.”
Her eyes glistened. “And I want the same, Maan. Even if it terrifies me.”
He smiled faintly, slipping a simple ring onto her finger — no fanfare, no public spectacle. Just them, and a quiet certainty.

The Wedding
The wedding was intimate, with family only. Daadima officiated in her subtle, ceremonial way, blending tradition and understated elegance. Only Raj, Yash, Naintara, Maanav Kapoor, and a few close friends attended.

Yet news traveled fast. By the time they returned from their honeymoon, whispers had already made them the “talk of the town” — a quiet, private affair that everyone admired.

Back at KC – Full Circle
Geet and Maan returned to the office as partners in both life and work. The heritage project progressed under their joint guidance, with Jai respectfully acknowledging the change in dynamics. Maan’s earlier jealousy dissolved into collaboration, admiration, and trust.

At the terrace one evening, Daadima smiled knowingly at their playful debate over material finishes. “Finally,” she said softly, “the walls between you two came down.”

Geet laughed, nudging Maan. He caught her hand, warmth spreading silently between them.

The office, the family, the city — all watched quietly as two people who had respected, tested, and ultimately understood each other, merged their worlds.

THE END

Ok sorry guys- I realized I wasn't as invested in how the story was going- still wanted to end it. I incorporated some moments I always wanted to- but it is a quick ending. I wanted their relationship to be a slow ache, mutual respect thing- but didnt have enough plot points to expand. I might stick to OS.

Chapter 17

whilst tension has softened, the silence still remains

sad that Geet is restrained in her behavior

at least Maan noticed this

glad that Maan knows that he was wrong

of cos Maan praised Geet

pleased that Maan acknowledged that Geet is exceptional

as expected the clients were impressed with Geet's work

Maan's thoughts were understandable

sad that he is letting his insecurity overpower him

great that he realised that Geet could have taken the easy route but did not

liked that Maan admires Geet

so Maan and Geet conversed in the lift

now Maan is unraveling his own walls
