There is The Essential Tagore that includes translations by contributors like Amitav Ghosh, Sunetra Gupta, Syed Manzoorul Islam, and Kaiser Haq.

By adaptations of Tagore stories you mean in film or book?

And I’m hardly a fan of Hiba ki acting. But the script was so shit after a point that there is nothing left worth comparing in KA ya HN ki acting to prove him better than Hiba by listing out her bad performances in detail. End of the day everything was rendered moot and pointless only. lol

Some actors are apt for a role so they stand out. KA was apt for Ani so he stood out in a largely mediocre cast but still has a longgggg way to go as an actor. Bindi mein Manav eats him alive in every scene. KA is yet to achieve this high stature he is being afforded automatically 🤷‍♀️

Baaki I don’t have the interest or time to keep the Imlie vs Jhanak or Ani vs Adi discussion going either. To each their own 🤷‍♀️😂

Specially For someone like Anirudh — who walks around controlled, guarded, and perpetually masked — Appu di was his unfiltered self. she was Anirudh’s emotional compass. She was one of the very few people in his life before Jhanak who saw the real him.Losing her should’ve shattered him. He should’ve felt guilt, helplessness, rage, something. But instead, what we got was exactly — autopilot acting, as if they were simply checking boxes in the script. No breakdown. No real moment of silence. No emotional collapse.

And that’s when it became painfully clear:

The actors were no longer feeling the story. They were simply delivering it...

As I said he stopped caring after they made him almost inhuman 🤣

Ask AYji and Shalini...even we were being restless to get done with Apudi's death😬😬 by that point, it was clear that the makers were killing time by focussing on anything and everything except Runak...the Ishani story was also taking up a major chunk of the runtime..and the worst! Arshi madam ko gayab kar diya gaya wardaat se taaki sara focus Anjrudh ki Jhanak ke prati bewafaai pe shift kiya jaye aur Arshi didi ke karnaamo ko deep freezer me daal diya jay! Ridiculous is the only adjective for this shitshow! 🤷🏻‍♀️

Regarding Krushal One thing that I noticed in Jhanak was:

At times, his aggression felt louder than needed. Instead of simmering intensity, the delivery became shouty, reducing emotional impact.

Example: Confrontations with Jhanak where the same “dominant glare + loud dialogue” pattern repeated.

His drunk scene as well...Instead of looking genuinely intoxicated, it felt like acting drunk....

There were places where may be due to lack of conviction in writing from that Leena,sometimes Krushal’s restraint lacked that inner burn, so it appeared like low energy rather than controlled depth...

He shines the most when he’s in the zone of controlled intensity — not shouting, not frozen — but emotion pressed beneath the surface (like those rare teary-eyed breakdowns). That’s where his eyes speak....I love his big expressive eyes a lot...

Also in Bindi, it was clearly visible in the promo only....Manav ate him in the promo itself...such aura and presence Manav had...Such characters are his zones... veteran he is

And also Honestly I also think that overall in this show Krushal as Anirudh was a bit better than Hiba..in many ways i.e breakdowns , monologues, angry outbursts, expressions etc...but then when I look back beyond just “acting,” Hiba’s journey as Jhanak was one of the roughest terrains any actress has had to navigate. She wasn’t working with a stable script or a steady emotional graph — she was trying to swim in constantly shifting waters.

In Jhanak, her entire identity kept morphing every alternate week.

One day she was a helpless victim, next day silent rebel,next day a devdasi, third day self-respecting warrior, later a confused romantic lead — with zero emotional continuity and then a damsel in distress again.

Even the *best actor in the world cannot perform consistently if the character itself is inconsistent.

Hiba herself admitted — she needs time to settle into a character.

But here?Multiple location jumps,Shooting in extreme conditions,New crews, new energies every few weeks,Barely any rehearsal space before camera-on

How can someone emotionally settle when the unit itself never settles?

She was not acting Jhanak — she was running after Jhanak, trying to catch her,to keep up with her...

Yes, we can point out flaws in her performance.But we also have to admit — what she was given was not a playground for growth, but a psychological treadmill....

GM faltered... i never said that.. he is ok but i didn't feel any urge to watch more of him...

Sumbul i liked but i didn't seek new content of hers either..

HN, i will give her new show a try just like i am trying Bindi..

KA, i would miss a few epi here and there since Appudi death buildup as I had lost interest and wouldn't care to catch up if i missed a few episodes due to work.. Asmita said he didn't do good in these scenes but i won't know

But i do remember a few places where a very bored KA leaked out of AB.. family shopping in the mall for the purported Sirji/J wedding...

his reaction to Arshi showing up with cops at the sangeet... we had even discussed when the epi was aired..

You may think i am overly siding with him... but a complete scene in Jhanak failed to create an impact bcz of KA's bad acting.. i don't recall... :)
