Truth, lies and delusions of Geetanjali - A tribute from Gen4 pankhas

While I think there might have been threads and posts on Geetanjali/ Geetu, don't think she got much attention from the Gen 4 lead pankhas here.. Which I don't think is right, so let us discuss.

P.S. Let us restrict to character discussion only.

Whatever be the feelings towards the character, I believe Ruheen even while putting across the character perspective has been mindful of the online audience sentiments in her ivs as well as sm activities related to the show.

A walk down the memory lane

From risking her life by jumping in front of a truck to save a child’s life to attempting to kill the same child by driving the car off a cliff ..Geetanjali is yet another example of the pathetic writing of the Rishta team ….she could have been been given a mature and decent exit …instead they made her commit marital rape by taking advantage of a reluctant husband not in his senses ..and then they showed her attempt to kill a seven year old child ..Initially the obsession was over Maira and then overnight it became Armaan …clueless writing at its best ..

Geetanjali > Mandira

Not even Mandira took advantage of Mihir when he was not in his senses ..nor did she try and kill a child …what an ugly end to a character that could have been dignified and decent !

Female cameos aren't new to Rishta.. Gen 2 had Vedika and Ridhima who were both fantasizing a family with Kartik and were delusional in their own ways in beleiving they had some possibility in receiving love from the guy who claimed love for only one person. But atleast wahaan tho, Vedika married a man who thought his wife was dead..

Geetu on the other hand ka thi kya hi kehna!!! She put the delusion of Ruhi to shame!! Atleast Ruhi realised her misgivings were just that, at some point.

But Geetu is a special and extraordinary person!!! The guy told her repeatedly.. at various junctures that he can never love her.. He showed her openly that he doesn't love her.. She saw and knew fully well Abhira was still around and what effect she had on Armaan.. Yet.. She chose to willfully marry the man and then cried foul!!!

The guy may have had a 100 faults otherwise, but giving her false hopes wasn't one of them AT ALL!!! It was all her own doing!! And the worst of it all had it to be what she claimed had "happened" between them yesterday/today!!! I have no words to describe just how pathetic she became in that one act than she ever was all this while!!! To get close to a man who has told her he doesn't love her and will always maintain distance from her when he was under the influence of alcohol is a cheap low for the show and for her character.

Nothing.. I mean absolutely nothing can now make her seem valid anymore!! And all of this is just with respect to Armaan!!! Lets not even go to how she has been with a 7 year old kid!!! Kids are opportunists sure, but if that gives license for elders to be the same, then they better be called opportunists as well!! And worse!! Cos imagine mother figures wanting to be in a manipulation contest with their kids!!!

Most important question.... Did Geetanjali get close to Maira to get close to Ar as well? While all her actions prior to her suicide drama indicated otherwise, things get blurry from there onwards..

Apparently her suicide attempt was all for the sake of Maira, but she had to do that in Udaipur and that too after visiting GH and scaring the hell out of the child. And the moment Ar decided to marry her for keeping her away from Maira and Ab after her threat that she would separate them, Geetu was like who Maira/ what suicide.. Let me get this shaadi done ASAP though she knew he didn't love her and had told her will never love her.. Remember the Ar ka shaadi ke liye haa karna ek chamatkaar se kam nahi hai and Pandit ji jaldi kijiye when she saw Anshumaan / saw phone call from home.. And even when her own Daadu called her out on how she would have forced Ar's hand, she was like she was thinking about her future

Geetanjali another easy way for the writers to villanize another female character to uplift the ml of this gen. They tried to show her as obsessed lover to a rapist and trying to kill a kid she raised half of her life.

Makers can try all they want but the existing garbage will keep smelling rotten.

Armaan gave hopes to Geetanjali

The only 3 points for this against the n number of points against..

1. Maira ki zindagi mein tumhaari jagah koi nahin le sakti

Where is this Ar giving hope on anything between him and Geetanjali. Forget that he was against Maira addressing her as Mumma even after engagement. After the dance competition when Maira accepted Ab as Mumma, inspite of all manipulations Geetu did.. Maira offered her exactly that.. A place in her life , just not that of Mumma.. But Geetu wanted none of that..

2. Tum humari choti si duniya ka hissa.... Which again was the truth.. There was no giving hope there unless the other person wants to be delusional.. She and Daadu were their only major acquaintances and their landlord as well

3. He proposed marriage to her. .

Geetu knew even when Ar proposed that he was doing it only for Maira, her own monologue. Later Ar told her the same in very clear words that he can never love her as he loved Ab and even the marriage was for the sake of Maira.. And Geetu was completely bok with that as well at that point and said she appreciated the honesty..And then everything changed?

So where exactly was the giving hope?

When he was angry at Maira for planning the engagement first time and sent all the guests off?

When after that instance Geetu tried to help with something and hev told categorically that he didn't want her to have any hopes? Her reply then was that she knew all that

In Geetu's own words to Ar/ Ab that Ar always maintained distance from her and that he didn't ask her for help with Maira but she did it for her own khushi..

When during engagement, Ar was reluctant to even accept congratulations from the guests? And post engagement he spoke about Ab and how he will never be able to give Geetu the love..

Post coming back to Udaipur, Geetu seeing how Ar was still in love with Ab and she admitting that she knows he will always prioritise Ab.. And when Ar agreed for marriage for the sole reason iof Ab/ Maira, she khushi khushi did the shaadi and then wanted to force Ar to love her ?

Manipulating the same kid she "claims to love " for keeping secrets and phone from her parents..Making the little girl she apparently claimed to love feel guilty for having hot chocolate and sweets...

Even by trashing more 2-3 PLs you cannot white wash this action.

If Armaan knew that abhira wasnt married the story would have been very different for geetanjali.

He married geetanjali not out of fear that she will die but because he thought abhira moved on.

He also faced a similar situation with ruhi before right?He tackled her.

Why couldnt he do the same this time too with geetanjali?
