Mostly I can. Sometimes I have to rely on subtitles or have to search for some terms.

Will check out the videos, thanks for the links.

Colours of Our Forever

The sun had begun its slow descent into the horizon, painting the sky in hues of saffron and gold. The palace balcony overlooked the gentle hills bathed in the evening glow, where a soft breeze carried the fragrance of blooming jasmine. There, seated gracefully on a carved stone seat, was Urmila, in rose red garbs, her veil falling lightly over her shoulder, the golden jewellery, the chudamadi, placed at the edge of her dupatta, the symbol of her devotion to her husband, her love, in elegant style, her hands steady as she held a brush. Her delicate fingers traced colors onto the canvas, each stroke capturing more of her husband’s likeness.

Before her stood Lakshman, his strong frame draped in a blue garment, his bow and quiver resting against his back as if they were a natural extension of him. His eyes, usually sharp with duty, softened as he looked down at his beloved. The faintest of smiles played upon his lips, the kind reserved only for her.

“You have painted me far too noble, Urmila,” he teased gently, watching her brush glide across the canvas.

She paused, glancing up at him with that mischievous spark in her eyes. “And what else should I paint you as? A scowling warrior forever scaring the little children of Ayodhya?”

Lakshman chuckled, the sound rich and warm. “Perhaps that would be more honest.”

“No,” Urmila said softly, her voice lowering as she turned back to the canvas, “I paint you as I see you. Not only a warrior, but the man who speaks gently with me at dusk, who worries for his brother at dawn, who shields everyone he loves even before himself. This is the very man I know and I love....” She paused, her face blushing.

His chest tightened at her words. Lakshman, who rarely let emotions rise to the surface, found himself undone in the presence of her quiet strength. He reached down, brushing a stray lock of her hair back beneath her jeweled crown.

“You see too much in me, Urmila.”

She laughed lightly, dipping her brush in the paint once more. “And you see too little in yourself.”

For a moment, silence lingered, broken only by the rustle of the evening wind through the palace pillars. Lakshman bent closer, his eyes on the canvas now nearing completion. It was uncanny—she had captured the determination in his gaze, the set of his jaw, and yet there was something more. She had painted not only his face, but his soul, as she alone knew it.

“Every time I look at you,” Urmila whispered, her hand stilled midair, “I wish I could hold that moment forever. But since time does not listen to me, I paint. In colors and canvas, I keep what my heart cannot.”

Lakshman knelt beside her now, his large hand gently covering hers as she held the brush. The warmth of his touch steadied her.

“And every time I leave your side, my heart reminds me of you,” he said quietly, his voice carrying the weight of all the unsaid things between them. “Even in battle, even in the forest, I will see your face in my thoughts, guiding me.”

Her eyes shimmered, though she smiled to mask it. “Then perhaps, when I finish this painting, you may carry it with you when duty calls. A reminder of me when I am not near.”

Lakshman looked at her, deeply, as if trying to etch her into his very being. “No painting, however beautiful, can match the truth of you. But still, I will keep it—as treasure.”

She finally set the brush aside, her task complete. The painted Lakshman gazed back at them both, serene and resolute. Urmila’s hands rested on her lap, and she looked at him with a tenderness that made the world around them blur into silence.

Lakshman lifted her hand to his lips, pressing a kiss against her knuckles. “You have given me a thousand reasons to be strong, Urmila. And every one of them begins with you.”

She leaned slightly into him, her head tilting to rest against his arm. Together, they gazed at the painting—the warrior and his beloved, captured forever in strokes of devotion. Yet neither the canvas nor the twilight could capture the fullness of what existed between them, a love woven in the quiet moments, strong enough to outlast even the longest separations.
