Sid had been among the nominees:

Best Male Debut (nominees)
Ayushmann Khurana – Vicky Donor as Vicky Arora

Arjun Kapoor – Ishaqzaade as Parma Chauhan

Sidharth Malhotra – Student Of The Year as Abhimanyu Singh

Varun Dhawan – Student Of The Year as Rohan Nanda

So, both male leads of SOTY lost to Ayushmann (the 'insider' and the 'outsider')

Just make sure those are the actual 4 people that were nominated

Other wise I won’t give a shit and just roll my eyes smiley36

There's no VFX or 70-year-old actors using stunt doubles because they can't do most of the action scenes! He's one of the few actors who never uses stunt doubles because he can do any action scene for himself and nail it smiley41I think very few actors can say the same in that industry while looks like a jokers!

Dear, one doesn't elevate a beloved person by demeaning other ones... in the contrary...and Sid wouldn't do such things, btw..

It's true, at least in my country u have to be tall and have a fit body to join the Army etc and I don't see short, lackluster, or 60-year-old people applying for it. Apart from passing the entrance exams, both physical and mental which are not easy. My grandfather served in these units and seeing certain actors without standards in these types of military and police units is disrespectul to me because they wouldn't even be suitable.

There were people here asking why Bollywood wasn't valued outside here I am telling you one of the reasons:...actors with 60-70 years that cannot move a muscle, fake visual effects, fake actors without capacity for action scenes, fake abs, actors flying senselessly in scenes that look so fake..etc etc and fans of some of these people come here to laugh about an actor that really looked like a Real Army man and can do real action.

I completely understand your take, Dirdam, and even to me, it seems strange what some actors take as a fitting movie to them...but in the end, it's cinema, it's making believe, and VFX is a part of that. So, basically, I'm not against making an actor younger if it is part of the story... however, if the energy is missing (and also the youthfulness), it becomes a bit 'displaced'. Looking at Coolie, e.g., it didn't fit, imo...

That doesn't change my opinion about not defending the actor one loves through comparisons with other actors... I tend to just highlight everything positive about the beloved actor (without mentioning others, though) smiley1

As for Sid: in no way is he a 'bad' actor... so much depends on the director and - in his case - on a producer who doesn't seem to be serious to support that he prospers (maybe Sid didn't do the casting couch is what I've thought more than once...like Sushant certainly didn't either...)

Aryan's series has this - among many other things - as a subject...and I very much liked what the protagonist's (Aasmaan's) father told him about not loosing the self-respect.
