It's a kind of (imo childish) Tit for tat. The "double standard" or the "bigotry" is in other fields, not in the 'you-don't-show-our-movies-so-we-don't-show-yours". The movies are watched anyways if there are interest and devices (on whatever platforms), it's just a monetary loss if banned from theatres, at the end.
Reciprocity isnāt bigotry.
Tit for tat? You say it like Indiaās reacting irrationally ā LoL this is not some schoolyard spat. Pakistani bans on Indian films have existed since 1965. Thatās nearly 60 years of one-sided hostility. And yet, every time India decides to restrict access or pull back support, suddenly it's "childish" or "political" or "bigoted."
If mutual respect and exchange arenāt part of the deal, why should the door always be open just one way?
Itās only a monetary loss for them, because theyāve never allowed our films in their cinemas ā even though Bollywood fuels half their pop culture and memes.
So when India finally chooses not to keep extending that one-sided courtesy, itās not about being petty ā itās about being fair.
