Just a rant on how bad UKA has got

This is honestly the first time I’ve seen Renuka act so softly with Sailee, and I have to admit they actually have really good chemistry together. The show would benefit greatly if it subtly explored this side of their relationship. Sailee shouldn’t just be a complete doormat when it comes to Renuka. It would make sense if she sometimes had moments of natural irritation or snapped back when Renuka said something nasty, but still cared deep down because she’s kind by nature. That feels true to who she is. Realistically, after going through so much abuse any bahu would eventually push back, even in small subtle ways. And Renuka, for her part, should also be shown to have quiet trust in Sailee in her own way since it's been more than a year of living together. This softer side of their relationship shouldn’t just be restricted to one episode; it should be carried into future episodes so the story can actually move forward even at a snail’s pace.

On the other hand, Sachin’s emotional dependence on Renuka has reached an almost unbearable level. Yes, he’s always loved his mom, but he was never this clingy and over the top about it. Back then, he cared, but it didn’t look like he was about to cry every single time she was upset. Honestly, it’s getting annoying to watch and he’s become ridiculously pathetic. It would be nice if Renuka had moments, but Sachin didn't; at least until she starts getting kinder towards him and only then he slowly starts showing his hidden affection. Little by little. It makes zero sense for him to just overlook her consistent abuse for decades and domestic abuse towards his wife.

Honestly, the older version of Sachin had layers; like, there was love, but also a bit of resentment toward Renuka for how his life turned out. It was just a flicker, but it was there. The complexity and the push and pull of his feelings for his mom was what made him feel real and the relationship intriguing. As an audience, it was interesting to see whether he would accept his mom when she finally apologized or would he walk away. Now, it’s so obvious that he’s going to be an unrealistic mahanta ki moorat with no self-respect when Renuka finally bends. Sachin's just been reduced to a one-dimensional, love sick puppy with no natural or connecting emotional range anymore.

And what happened to his taxi ambition? His pride? His self respect? His life outside of Sailee and his mother? Right now, he feels like a side character whose only personality is pleasing Sailee and drowning in self-pity. Even Sailee, who’s mostly shown as passive, has more dimension than him at this point. His entire arc revolves around pleasing her or despairing over his life. He has no personality left to him other than being super loud.

Both characters need serious adjustments. I know the duration is long and that the makers are doing their best, but please fix their characters. Sailee should be shown as exhausted and fed up where she speaks up at times, not just crying about it and doing nothing. She should occasionally snap at Renuka, or at least at Roshni, with some biting retorts. If the intention is to lean into the saas-bahu dynamic, then it should feel like an equal clash, not a one sided barrage of insults met only with tears. It’s 2025, not 1970.

And Sachin needs even more fixing. His loudness has to be toned down, and his world shouldn’t revolve around Sailee all the time. Show him actually putting effort into his dream business instead of just talking about it. The Sachin from the first 200 episodes was perfect: he was funny, charming, but also had a subtle seriousness that reflected the weight of his trauma. You couldn’t help but feel bad for him and root for him. Now he’s just been reduced to a caricature and it’s not funny. His temper is gone, his edge has completely vanished, and he exaggerates so much that it’s hard to take him seriously.

Honestly, even his backstory was a letdown. They built it up so much, and when it finally came out, it fell flat. He used to be my favorite character, but now Sailee actually feels like she has more story than him, and that’s saying something. At this point, he’s just reduced to doing forced comedy and servitude to his disgusting family, which is such a waste of what he used to be. It’s a huge disservice to both his character and the audience who once connected with him.

Many of you guys may not agree with everything I have said, but you have to agree that both of their characters have only been deteriorating for hundreds of episodes and it’s not getting fixed. Nobody is calling this out because this show doesn’t have a strong online fanbase, but a lot of viewers that I personally know of have mutual feelings regarding this.

Just make this show realistic again. Make the leads relatable again. STOP making them sacrificial idiotic characters. There won't be any hate-watch for UKA because it doesn't have that much of a strong legacy type fanbase. The show is in top 5 only because it's somewhat better than the other shows on air right now. Make Sailee and Sachin natural again who have flaws, who can be selfish at times, who prioritize each other and look after each other first, who don't go around trying to sacrifice their happiness all the time for others, who learn that some people don't change and move on. Otherwise, every track in this show has a predictable ending with it's rinse and repeat formula.

Honestly UKA greatly degrading leads, seems like makers only aim is to show leads as Mahaan more than OG version (Started major changes from leads losing in competition track instead of winning like OG). Initially I thought OG very badly deteriorating leads over time but after watching Uka I changed my view Atleast OG leads are better.

In Badu birthday track if you remember Renu will taunt sailee by saying she like to eat sweet now during their fight but Uka cut the scene from OG where FL will taunt Same like Renu by giving halwa sweet to renu after they resolved their fight within day (One of my favourite moments)

I don't know why they cut this scene maybe they feel it will spoil Mahaan image of her?

Sachin is very badly degraded why they need to show him always desperate for Renu's love,revolving around sailee only & I can't able to see his aggressiveness anymore like before. In OG after FL started decoration business she said ML shouldn't be always coming along with her it will create bad image & She should be independent without depending on him always But here it is completely opposite.. she always depending on him. It damaging both leads like sachin didn't have any own taxi job.

In OG too ML has shown moments of loving his mom but it didn't feel this much desperate like sachin because they showing it here frequently like feels every episode & he didn't have any aggressive edge like OG version. They made sachin very soft,vulnerable & his aggressive nature completely gone now. Maybe he will show his aggressive nature again when they following OG tracks but it will feel inconsistent atleast to me.

Maybe after this feedback I hope UKA makers will start to change according to audience feedback

Dude, I agree with each and every point you have made. It is honestly ridiculous. Sailee is so unrealistic. The makers have COMPLETELY destroyed her character. I once saw an interview of the actress and she was literally saying that she's shown doormat so in real life people don't talk back and stand up to their mother-in-law, which is absurd because that's what the director gaslighted her into believing when she was initially questioning it. Sailee needs to give return taunts to Renuka, especially since the flashback has been revealed here and she knows how much Sachin has suffered.

Honestly, I used to also be annoyed at the OG leads in the Tamil version because they felt mahaan and I thought that was why UKA leads had to be mahaan, but now the OG leads and show is so much better. They at least have more self-respect than these folks. At this point, I hope they had followed the OG version and brought none of their own changes for SaChi.

UKA removed all the good and self-respecting scenes of Sailee in order to go along with their theory of a mom and saas never being abusive because being abusive is their right. UKA promotes that if you are poor you should be abused by your in-laws and if you are rich you should be treated like a princess, and this only feels like a promotion because the FL justifies the abuse with her own words and actions. This show never removes any scenes where Renuka goes overboard in his abuse (remember when Sailee got fever and Renuka still made her work and sleep on the floor). But they always remove or never create any scenes where Sailee defends herself without sounding pathetic.

I don't understand why UKA is obsessed with showing Sailee longing for Renuka when it makes no sense and that's not in the OG. It would've made more sense for her to give up on Renuka and that's why she does her bidding because she has no hope about her life changing, but here Sailee acts like Renuka is doing the right thing all the damn time. It's pathetic and irritating. This way Sailee wouldn't be so mahaan that she gives away everything of hers just to please her abusers, harming her husband in the way.

And don't even get me started on Sachin. He has downgraded so much that it's even more nauseating. He is so desperate for Renuka and holds no grudge over how she treated him anymore. ZERO idea why. What the actual heck is this logic? He's even more pathetic because at this point he has even less self respect than Sailee. There is no ML aura to him anymore. There is no intimidating factor left and he just acts like a baby who needs to be supported at every turn because he can't do a single thing right. Now, even when they show a fighting sequence of him with that tashan music it feels unrealistic and cringe. Sachin tries too hard to be funny that it's become embarrassing.

I really hate how they are showing Sailee so dependent on Sachin. Sailee should be able to sort out her own mess without needing Sachin to jump in at every moment. She's literally more ambitious than him and is actually doing business so she need's to act like a businesswoman who rarely takes anyone's crap. Can't the makers make him more realistic by making him actually act like a normal husband who has flaws, who's not a simp for his wife 24*7, who has his moment's of meanness as well? I can't believe I'm actually saying this because I am all for green flag MLs but with Sachin they have done way too much and it's just super forced. I follow along the OG and the ML is so much better and realistic over there. I can actually sympathize with him because his character and acting is natural. The audience isn't bombarded with so called emotional moments between the ML and his mom so each one is special. But in UKA it's done so much that there is no specialty left in it. There is no vulnerability left. All Sachin does is be depressed and pathetic around Renuka when she accidentally stares at him, so much so that as an audience I have lost respect for him.

I agree that if they try to change it now it might feel inconsistent but they can show that the honeymoon phase is over. No couple can act super lovey-dovey with each other forever and there would always be moments where things go wrong before they patch up. And honestly, I'd take the inconsistency any day over the crap they are showing us.

Still now I can't understand why they revealed Sachin past when they are going to follow OG after this track as truth didn't revealed there yet. After truth revelation atleast there should be some impact on plot but nothing happened here like Sailee knows the truth now but what changed not even little changes. They wasted one of major truth revelation of show, now there is only remaining is roshini truth. When in OG, both truths of ML's past & Rohini past are highly anticipated by audience so there is hype for both Antagonist & Protagonist but in UKA audience will have more hype for Antagonist roshini only now. Uka wasted & closed Sachin's scope and hype by his revelation.

Maybe if online fans give constructive criticism to him,his acting can change but his fans only praising him then how will he change..

But Uka changed ML's fight due to giving savings debate to his friend fam function(realistic fight) into Ranjit track giving akash bike - jail drama which serves only dramatic track.

The revelation was honestly so stupid to do so, and it had so many loopholes. The OG have been dragging it out so when it is finally revealed there would be some big change in the storyline, but here there is none. Sailee knows the truth, but is still so sweet to Renuka and Tejas. It just makes no sense. She should be hating them. Her not doing so makes it seem like she doesn't care enough. They tried to grab TRP more than plot. TRP didn't come but the plot went haywire. I don't understand what story they are going to produce when OG finally reveals the truth.

I honestly don't even care about whether they find out about Roshni's truth or not. It's not going to change anything. In OG they already know that she isn't rich then what difference would it make to find out that she's also a mom. No change.

I agree, Sachin has no intimidating factor now. His perspective doesn't really matter or impact the story because he isn't going to have an intense or proper reaction when Sailee goes against him. He would just cry and then get over it. Whereas in OG, as you have said, the audience would anticipate and be anxious about how the ML would react. Here, the audience just know it's not going to matter because Sachin is going to have the reaction of an irrelevant character, which brings no impact to the story. There is no proper fight. You're absolutely right, Sachin has no individuality left to him. It's such a downgrade to the OG character.

No, Sachin's acting is not normal. It's overacting, but the problem is that his fans just continue to hype him and overlook it. They didn't call him out when he started doing it and now it has reached an unbearable level. As someone who is completely neutral to the show (I have no previous recognition of any of the actors), I am safe to say that the ML needs to improve his acting by a ton. He should watch himself in the early episodes and realize how much he has downgraded, character-wise and acting-wise.

Sachin and Sailee are too dependent on each other, and all for the wrong reasons. There is no naturality left in their relationship and characters. Sailee is always acting so shy in front of Sachin, which is weird. But when they fight she has all the words in her vocabulary. However she has nothing to say when someone else tells her anything. Sailee can only speak up in front of Sachin, but doesn't have the courage to do so in front of others, and if she does it mostly sounds lame and unreasonable. The antagonists can easily shut her down. Sachin, too, only speaks but does absolutely nothing. He's all bark and no bite.

UKA is going for drama more than realistic tracks, and I honestly blame some of the fans for this. They keep demanding for the show to indirectly or directly revolve around Sachin all the time. And the creatives tried following that by bringing in Ranjit and giving Sachin screentime but on the way they ruined a big track and Sachin's character even more. But the truth is that until Sachin's character is fixed there is nothing left to him anymore. He can't do anything because the creatives have reduced him to just being soft, vulnerable, and someone who easily gets a meltdown instead of the ambitious, rugged, and edgy taxi driver that he was. Return the edge in him and stop making him a comic character then something might change because he's not thrilling anymore.

I really hope the makers actually sit down, watch their show, and implement genuine feedback that they are getting. It could still salvage the show if they return to their initial direction and storyline, which was about keeping it realistic, both lead-centric, and keeping character individuality intact. They need to follow the OG show more for the leads at this point. At least, Sachin makes sense over there and Sailee isn't as doormat.

I agree with you. The show is a total mess. The acting needs to improve a lot and Sailee needs to be more independent. Sachin too needs his individuality back.
