We all know CID + ETF stories are cursed. You're literally fighting against destiny right now.

Jokes apart, it's not your fault and we understand that. And in the meantime maybe something else come to you and you can tweak this if your original plan doesn't recover. Meanwhile we can always binge read your stories and pray for you. Obviously that laptop did not just have those stories, it might have your personal data too that you lost. Just pray for the best, keep trying on your end. Surely something or other will work out. Or you can start from scratch. It'll be painful but c'mon. You wrote this the first time, you can always write another.

After all your brain is your best asset and your fingers the best tool. And I'm Saying this for every data you lost, not just your stories. And for the future, you can be cautious and keep backups on Google drive or whatever backup tool works for you.

So don't dwell on the problem but look for solutions. I'm sure things will work out for you. Till then focus on your health and peace of mind.

Hello Everyone!!

I have an important update.

Unfortunately, the drive is not salvageable. I received the news on Saturday but I needed a little time to wrap my head around the thing. He has tried multiple things, each better than the last but the recovery is just not happening which is why it was taking so long too. He has said that at the most they can now try to get around 10% of it back but the cost is anyway a bomb so he is suggesting I should not do it.

I am going to do it anyway because there 900 GB of data in there and 10 percent means around 80-90 GB which is better than nothing I guess. There are things in there which are too dear to me and if there's any chance of getting them I am going to take it.

Anyway, coming to what will happen here. After the denial and depression wore off, my thought was that I don't want my last story to be incomplete and this is not a record I want to break.

My first option was that I just spill the beans and tell you guys the whole plot in a para or two for some kind of closure.

When I thought about the stuff a little more, I am leaning towards rewriting it. I have a beginning, I can just take all the parts already posted from here so it will not be from scratch. Secondly, I already have the plot and storyline and I know what is going to happen so there's no brainstorming that I have to do. Of course I don't remember every detail so it wont be exactly the same (and hopefully that doesn't affect the quality of the story in a negative way). I will definitely need more time to do this... like at least 1.5-2 months to get a good number of pages in so I know I am not missing stuff and am able to write it well.

I also feel a little bad to ask you guys to wait again. So you guys can let me know your thoughts and we can go for any of the options.
