You know, I have been thinking, Sonalika's re-entry totally ruined the show for me. There was a huge tonal shift where it delved into drama, nonsense and unnecessary footage for sideys.

Before, even side characters contributed to interesting scenes. There was a fun vibe to it. Remember the Juneja wedding? BM taunting Smita-Shuvbi, that cute fight. Or BM threatening Smita. Powerful acting and food script.

PraShiv had good development. They had finally become friends. For a show based on deceitful marriage and the plot of Shiv being abandoned by his mother and coming back for revenge, they really had a positive vibe. A buzz.

Raunak wasn't ruined (happy for Akshay since later tracks gave him scope to prove his worth) to this extent, Zaveris weren't absent, BM wasn't vilified, Shiv didn't lose his brains, Gayatri still appeared from time to time. Payal was annoying but she wasn't glorified like Sonalika.

Even Roopam's Sona fit into that scene. She was dramatic but classy. Her confrontations, her manipulations, her scenes with Raunak (it was only one scene but it was heaps better than what we are getting now), things had...charm.

I'm not blaming Megha, apart from her bad acting, nothing is her fault. The makeup artist has blush-blindness and the script is trash, but the cast change brought on a major tone shift that we haven't recovered from.

This is not the kumkum bhagya we signed up for.

At times I feel I should make an excel sheet for repeated couples in 35 years of Indian Television.

Ohh another one ! Real life couple Vatsal Seth and Ishita Dutta. Repeated. His previous costar Sanjeeda Sheikh did a Vikram Bhatt webseries with him.
