He was love in with Rowena Ravenclaw. When Helena stole the diadem and run away, Rowena sent Baron to bring her back. When Helena didn't agree, he killed her. And in remorse killed himself later using the same knife. Both Helena and Bloody Baron returned to Hogwarts as ghosts. Baron's clothes were soaked with blood do he was named Bloody Baron.

Wait all these years I thought he was in love with Helena , proposed to her , she rejected his advances and he killed her in rage.....he loved Rowena?
