Chapter 6: Purani Yaadein
The soft chime of the resort’s evening bell blended with the distant hum of Shimla’s night life. Geet sat by the window in her suite, the half-finished mehendi design on her palms now a fading memory.
Outside, the twilight deepened, casting shadows that seemed to stretch back through time.
Her mind drifted—back to those carefree college days when everything was simple, before love became complicated.

Flashback – 5 Years Ago
The campus was alive with autumn’s first golden leaves, swirling playfully in the crisp air. Geet walked briskly along the tree-lined path, clutching a stack of books.
Her eyes lit up when she spotted a familiar figure sitting on the bench, sketching in a notebook.
It was Maan Singh Khurana.
His unruly hair caught the sunlight, and his focused expression made him seem like he belonged in a world of his own creation.
“Hey, Picasso,” Geet teased, settling beside him.
He looked up, eyes twinkling. “I’m not Picasso. But maybe I can paint you into my world.”
She smiled, heart fluttering.
Their friendship had bloomed effortlessly—study sessions, late-night chai, stolen glances during campus festivals.
Then, one evening under the starlit sky, Maan had taken her hand.
“Geet, I think I’m falling for you,” he had whispered.
Her answer had been a shy nod, and from that moment, everything changed.
They were inseparable—two halves making a whole.

Geet’s fingers trembled as she traced invisible patterns on the windowpane.
But their story hadn’t remained untouched by pain.

Flashback
A cold winter morning.
Snow blanketed the campus, muffling sounds and softening edges.
Maan stood outside the library, waiting.
Geet arrived, breath visible in the freezing air.
“I got your note,” Maan said quietly, holding out a folded paper.
Geet hesitated, then took it.
It was a message from a friend, hinting that Maan was hiding something from her—something serious.
Misunderstandings had rooted themselves in silence.
“Why didn’t you tell me?” Geet’s voice cracked.
Maan’s jaw tightened. “I wanted to protect you.”
“But I deserve the truth.”
Their eyes locked—years of love battling years of doubt.
Before either could speak again, footsteps approached.
A mutual friend interrupted, and the moment slipped away, frozen in time.

Back to Present
Geet’s breath hitched.
She realized that silence had been their greatest enemy.
Neither had spoken what truly weighed on their hearts.
And so, Maan left.

Maan sat across the table in the resort’s lounge, staring at the flickering flame in a candle.
His mind replayed the past with equal parts warmth and regret.
He remembered the pain of leaving Geet, the ache of unanswered questions, and the loneliness that followed.
Yet, here they were again—five years later, thrown together by fate.
The room’s door opened softly.
Geet stepped in, carrying two cups of steaming tea.
She offered one to him, their fingers brushing briefly.
“Thank you,” Maan said, voice low.
They sat in silence, the weight of memories filling the space between them.
Finally, Geet spoke.
“Maan, why did you really leave?”
He sighed.
“I thought you hated me,” he admitted.
“I never hated you,” she replied, tears brimming.
“We were scared to say what was true,” Maan said.
“Afraid to lose what we had.”
Geet nodded.
“Maybe we did lose each other… but I’m not ready to give up yet.”
Maan reached across the table, taking her hand.
“We’ll fix this—slowly.”
Geet smiled, hope rekindling in her eyes.

The evening deepened.
Outside, the stars blinked awake.
Two souls, bound by past love and present longing, prepared to write the next chapter of their story.

Beautiful wonderful update
Chapter 6
Fabulous Chapter
Maan and Geet both loved each other and still love each other
but both have to work hard and always communicate with each other
so misunderstandings don't creep into their relation
hopefully this time both realize their weakness and make sure it does
not happen again
Chapter 6
so Geet recalls the past
Past
enjoyed Maaneet's banter
glad that they friendship bloomed
of cos they fell in love and confessed their feelings
sad that misunderstandings and lack of communication ruined their relationship
whilst Maan wanted to protect her, she was correct that she had a right to know
silence was indeed their greatest enemy
Present
Maan's thoughts were reasonable
Geet's question was justified
pleased that Maan was honest with Geet
great that she assured him
Maan had a valid point
liked Maan's determination
they now have another chance
update soon
Geet will soon face her past. Will she stick to comfortable or be open to something else?
Prologue
