Thank god Pant is okay and batting now

Yes but oval test selector picked up N. Jagdeeshan 'cause KISHAN not available, they talked about S. Bharat & k. Rahul and Jurel too but they picked someone new

Jagadeesan set to come in as replacement for injured Pant- cricbuzz

jagadeesan-could-come-in-for-pantJagadeesan come in for Pant.

N Jagadeesan is in fray to replace the injured Rishabh Pant for the remainder of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025. The right-handed keeper batter from Tamil Nadu is almost certain to be added to the squad. An announcement is expected soon.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the national selectors and the touring team management were looking for a suitable replacement for Pant who has been ruled out of the series due to a fracture in his right toe. Pant sustained the injury on Day 1 of the fourth Test at Old Trafford in Manchester while batting.

Finally, they identified the 29-year-old Jagadeesan, who is expected join the squad ahead of the fifth and final Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. The selectors and the team management were looking at Ishan Kishan as a potential option and it later emerged that the 27-year-old keeper from Jharkhand is not available.

Jagadeesan has been picked for his stellar domestic performance, particularly in red-ball cricket. In 52 first-class matches, he has 3373 runs at a healthy average of 47.50 with 14 half-centuries and 10 centuries.

In the last Ranji season, he tallied 674 runs in eight matches at an impressive average of 56.16, with two hundreds and five fifties - most runs for his state in the competition. Among wicketkeepers, he had the second-best aggregate after Vidarbha's Akshay Wadkar (722 runs at 45.12 in 10 matches).

Jofra Archer to Washington Sundar, no run, big shout for LBW as Washington is hit on the back leg! It's an absolute jaffa from round the wicket. Full ball angling in around off, nips away sharply and beats the outside edge in defence. His feet didn't go anywhere, was caught in the crease. But the umpire says not out. Height maybe? England ponder a review but decide against it

Jofra Archer to Washington Sundar, no run, umpire's call saves Washington! Another beauty from Archer and very similar to the previous ball. Angling in from round the wicket, pitches on a good length and nips away to beat the outside edge in defence.

England review for LBW.

Stokes to Pant, FOUR, the timing is electric from Pant who will get a big applause as he raises his bat after scoring his fifty! What an effort this is. Batting with a broken right foot, he is adding useful runs towards the back-end of the innings. Full and wide outside off, he reaches out and just puts bat on ball without going hard. Gets it right off the middle and it races away through cover. No chance for the fielder at deep point
