You know what - since this is a MM romance the power imbalance isn’t as present as it would be in a MF romance. For eg; if Niko was trying these stunts with a woman, it would definitely give me more ick. And although Niko here is bigger and more built than Bran physically, Bran can give as good as he gets (if he wants to) so that makes it slightly okay - the playing field is slightly more levelled. Mind you - I still don’t like that Niko is pushy and an ass**** but I can take it with somewhat less disdain than if it were a straight romance.

And I would probably enjoy Niko's character more if it was an MF romance. He's the typical dark hero. But here due to Brandon also being a guy, you dont feel it much like you said.

Sometimes I do wish Bran actually punches him for real instead of just thinking about it.

13 & 14.

Ho-hum so they went there! Why are book characters so weak when it comes to sex? They succumb so easily to the physicality of it. So now it looks like Bran is gonna be the one hurting Niko and treating him like a dirty little secret.

Disappointing. .

15 & 16.

So Bran got it bad too.

I don’t get all these color references. Niko has rage issues? Why is it coming up just now?

And Bran has done something bad - idk if he just thinks it’s bad or it’s really bad. Both of them are so f**ked up in the head. When are they going to actually talk?

17 & 18

🥱 nothing is happening - I’m bored of Nikolai’s chapters. It’s getting repetitive- rinse, repeat.

Altight, I didn’t understand the whole Creigh wanting to get revenge on Jeremy and using Niko as pawn bit. Obviously there’s some history here but all the side characters have kinda overlapped in my head - I’m just categorizing them rn as Niko’s side and Bran’s side (kinda like Dulhewale and Dulhanwale )

Bran’s self-loathing and self-harm was pretty agonizing to read but his dad is awesome! I loved the text he sent Bran.

I’m reading on only to know what’s up with Bran - otherwise the overdose of Niko’s potty mouth and the intimate scenes has already bored me.

23 & 24

Finally we’re getting the connection and the talking. Bran is Demi! I called it!

Also the part where Bran is drying Niko’s hair has got to be the hottest and sweetest moment I read so far!

Done until Chapter 26, and god it got so intense!

Poor Bran

Now we’re getting to see the bond between these two. Niko’s personality is like that of a vain peacock with zero depth but idk if he can help heal Bran. Maybe he can just cos he’s so uncomplicated and Bran is the opposite.

I’m getting invested in these two and the story now
