I've a TBR for June. I selected a few LGBTQIA+ themed books to read. There're non-queer books in my TBR as well.

Ooo, anything in particular you're most excited to read?
I'm particularly interested in Carmilla. It's an LGBTQIA+ themed gothic novella, written in 1872. It shares similarities with Bram Stoker's Dracula but Carmilla was published 25 years before Dracula's publication. There's a children's ghost story about a transgender boy named Too Bright to See in my TBR of June, and it seems interesting. I'm very excited to read a psychological thriller, You. But I'm not sure whether I'll read Maya's New Husband or You in June. Maya's New Husband is an Indian thriller, and You is an American thriller. I want to read both. But I'm not a fast reader. So, I can't read both of the thrillers in June. I need to pick either Maya's New Husband or You. I'm enjoying a fanfiction of SOTUS because I like that show very much. It's bringing memories of the show back. I'm also excited to finish Shonku Samagra (a Bengali science fiction book) in June because the author, Satyajit Roy is my favourite author. Currently, I'm reading a LGBTQIA+ themed murder mystery named Murder in Mahim, a fanfiction of Thai BL drama, SOTUS, and Shonku Samagra. In Bengali, Samagra means complete. Bengali is my mother tongue.

I've had Carmilla on my TBR for a few years now, but I've just never gotten around to it.
I'm adding Too Bright to See on my Goodreads, it seems really interesting!
Is it You by Caroline Kepnes? The one that Netflix adapted? I've heard mixed reviews on that, and was mildly intrigued just because I want to compare to the show, but I don't know. Maya's New Husband seems cool though; I'll always give a debut author a chance, even if the book could be a hit or a miss.
I'm mostly just reading whatever book I have due next at the library.

Yes, yes, it's You by Caroline Kepnes. I'm addicted to Joe Goldberg's inner monologues. Currently I'm watching season 5 of You. Then I'll read the novel, You. And I may also read fanfictions of You.

Honestly, if they have the actor narrate the audiobook, I'll give it a shot.
I'm fairly new to the thriller/horror genre, so I'm not sure what I like yet, but I have hopes for gothic horror novels just because there have been gothic elements in some of the dark academia or literary fiction that I've read in the past.

Horror is my favorite genre. I mainly like scary horror movies and shows. Even if the movies and shows aren't scary, the tone needs to be serious, and the stories should be interesting. I'm not into horror comedies. I think most of the time, comedy takes away the charm of horror in horror comedy movies and shows. Btw, I'll start reading The Henna Wars after completing Murder in Mahim.
Bold@ I know, right? The actor, Penn Badgley's voice sounds amazing! I think I'll listen to the audiobook because I listened to Joe's inner monologues for five seasons. The audiobook narrator, Santino Fontana is good. I saw a lot of positive comments about him on the internet, and I listened to a few lines of the audiobook, You.

I get scared pretty easily, so I tend to lean towards supernatural/fantasy horror stuff that's in no way based on a true story. I need to be able to convince myself that something is just a story for me to enjoy it, otherwise I'm a total mess. (8-year-old me was genuinely terrified by OG Bhool Bhulaiya!)
I've also had audiobooks freak me out sometimes, but that could've been because I was listening to them in the middle of the night, or while walking home when the streets feel like a ghost town.
My favourite thing was how much Penn Badgley hated Joe and the way people were romanticizing him.
