A phenomenal actor like Pankaj Kapur is another one who has not won Padma Shri.
Awesome. Have loved him since Hum Paanch. What an actor!
Awsome, my all time favorite show Hum Paanch!!
not familiar with his Marathi films, Remember him in 90's Yes Boss & Koyla as well as Jodi No 1
Ashok Saraf, Lakshmikant Berde, Mahesh Kothare, Sachin Pilgaokar....they all are awesome together and individually too. Some of the movies are so funny... Total repeat value.

I'm happy for Ashok, which I only know through several Hindi movies and Ritesh's Marathi movie Ved - in the contrary to Pankaj. Although I've watched only some Marathi movies, Ashok's importance for the Marathi Cinema was something I learned through reading about him.
To me, it's also interesting that both, Ashok and Pankaj, have a theatrical background.
The first time, I consciously came across Shahid's father was in Kundan Shah's debut movie (I still have the DVD of Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro... such a good film). I noticed later that Pankaj worked a lot with Naseeruddin (last time in Finding Fanny).
Another movie with Pankaj in the lead that impressed me a lot, was about the quasi-biopic of an Indian doctor which made me then more familiar with Tapan Sinha's work (Ek Doctor Ki Maut).
Another treat to watch him was in Maqbool, then in Halla Bol and Bhardwaj's The Blue Umbrella
In Sinha's Bheed (with Rajkummar and Bhumi in the lead), it was his last film I watched him, but perhaps, I'll get time to watch him as Binny's grandfather in the Balaji movie.
