Yes true, it is equivalent to rain coming n the 2nd innings and match getting abandoned. Some natural/unnatural calamities, nothing can be done. It will be there n the ipl contracts also i think.

Once in an earlier year a CSK playoffs match was played n Lucknow twice i think due to rain. One innings was already played before the rain started.

Or that day they could have got 1 point each similar to a rain abandoned match.
