The current variant is JN.1 (detected in August 2023), an Omicron variant. Starting would be miswording; this variant probably evolved in Europe and was first reported in Denmark.

No. I don't work in healthcare. I said this here before. I work in tech and volunteer for Healthcare and Human rights-related organisations, collaborating with grassroots orgs in North America, Africa, and East Asia ...

I am also part of a scientific temper group that loves to keep up with the latest updates and peer reviews. Pre-COVID, we used to arrange science conferences for the general public, usually presented by fellow scientific enthusiasts, such as medical doctors, PhD researchers, and other scientists.

similarly…returns amongst celebs means what.. it’s like a flu or a cold or any other illness. Every human has possibility to get it. smiley1. It’s an endemic which means it’s never going away either just like the flu

Don't spread panic. Covid is not fatal anymore, coz most of the countries have ensured full vaccination for all the citizens after the pandemic, and also the germ is not strongly effective on the air like before. Even the ones having asthma and lungs diseases are on the safer side now unless they already have severe issues (God forbids). Months ago my sister-in-law (bhabi) and my nephew were attacked with Covid but their sicknesses lasted only for a week, they had fluctuated fever with a little chest pain, and now thankfully they're doing good health wise.
