They had arranged sight seeing for the contestants. This was before entering a temple which was a UNESCO world heritage site. Intention was to enter with clean feet.

Most of them did it on their own but still keeping a brass plate for them and someone facilitating the entire thing was too much.

But they could have just kept a bucket of water at the entrance and asked them to wash themselves. Or kept some portable self washing area.

It looks very much like the idea was to just wash their feet. I mean it's just feet ,they could have washed those themselves. It's not as if they needed help with sunscreen.

And not to sound racist but feet should have been the least of their concerns as far as washing goes
