I have done some analysis since the episode when Daya doubted Abhijeet. I'm just trying to put the strings together as it's getting too messy now.
The turning point in the storyline began when Priya ji informed Daya that Abhijeet was present at both murder sites... the murder of the two girls seen by Sachin during the bomb blast. It’s likely that Abhijeet was indeed present at both scenes, but for a different reason. He may have received a tip-off about the girls and went there to investigate. Unfortunately, before he could reach or protect them, they were murdered.
When Daya received this information from Priya ji, he immediately confronted Abhijeet. Abhijeet shared everything with him, including the timeline and his intentions. During this time, Daya also noticed that Ayushman was watching him during his meeting with Priya ji, and he informed Abhijeet about it. So, DUO were on the same page and had no real conflict between them.
They were already doubting Acp Ayushman after the death in bureau with the stolen drug from the evidence room. After the murder of the two girls before Abhijeet could reach them and Ayushman keeping eyes on the CID made them more doubtful regarding him. So, DUO planned their fight to trap Ayushman to know his real intention.
On the night Priya ji was murdered, Ayushman claimed to have seen Abhijeet leaving her house. It’s possible that Abhijeet went there to protect her after receiving some information. But before he could save her, she was murdered. Here it went wrong for DUO.
Now DUO didn’t want Abhijeet to get blamed for the murders. That’s why they planned the Goa scene. Daya pretended to turn against Abhijeet and took him in for questioning. But since there was no solid proof and with the help of the Butterflies, they made sure Abhijeet wouldn’t be trapped and they didn’t have to expose the full truth to Ayushman.
Now about ACP sir’s badge... Daya had it the whole time. But the question is, why didn’t he notice the chip before?
Ayushman came to know that the badge is with Daya only during the reality show murder case when Daya accidentally showed the badge. So maybe Ayushman put the chip in the badge at that point. That's why, in the end Ayushman told Daya to keep the badge because he wanted Daya to get the chip (Point to be noted: Daya told Ayushman that he doesn’t believe Abhijeet is the traitor, because Abhijeet could never kill ACP sir, not even if he wasn’t in his senses. This might have triggered Ayushman to plant the chip as a way to create more doubt and eventually make Daya mistrust Abhijeet.)
I still think Ayushman is the shady character here. He’s the one who made ACP sir start doubting his team, and he seems to be trying to break them apart. He knows the team really well because he was ACP sir’s mentee. Maybe he’s jealous of the DUO and wanted revenge. Perhaps killing Acp sir wasn’t part of his original plan, but something went terribly wrong as Barbosa was involved in all this.
