Last night I was re-watching Haseen Dilruba part 1 and realized that Vikrant Massey's character Rishu, initially was very much like Neil - intelligent, glasses, wasnt able to speak up, he knew that Rani is high maintenance but still took the plunge and once he finds out about her fling with his co-cousin - he does flip and shows his dark side to her. Maybe not that that extent but I think the makers could have done similar with Neil's character. They could have showcased some grey side after he got to know Ruturaj and Teju's past. Instead he went into a deeper shell with no confrontation or clarification. There was a change in Rutu and Teju's character post wedding but Neil just went into a deeper shell without any potential reason.

There wasnt a need to end Teju's role instead there was a need to add a little grey shades to Neil's character in order to suppress Teju's harshness towards him, thats all. My heart goes out to Vaibhavi these days and my heart is broken as I was so happily watching a show after a long time and now will have to quit because of this unnecessary change. This change isnt gonna work and makers will realize at the end that showing anything will not retain audiences, yes it can bring some new audience but will see for how long do they stick around and watch whatever crap is displayed on their phone/TV screens.

Exactly. Making the male lead a green flag, sweet guy doesn't mean make him this weak and submissive that he doesn't even have the human emotions of grief, anger and jealousy. Unless they make the character of Neil stronger with shades of darkness, the show won't work. Even shows with red flag male leads work only when they show a hint of vulnerability and caring nature in them. If they only show red flag characteristics, the shows will flop. Same thing is with Ghum S3. If they show Neil only crying and pining, the show will flop.

So what you're saying has actually already happened in Sitaraverse.

Kulfi was torture and Mohit was crying and crying I was after a point irritated that kyu bhai kyu ye show??

That kulfi was bloody annoying too cindrella pro max but atlst cindrella had the courage to go out of house. The only time I liked kulfi was when the kid says woh mere bhi papa hai main kahi nhi jaungi

Kulfi and her dad's scenes I didn't get any feels. I am probably dead inside

Amayra on the other hand was a brat and vamp whatever but what a cutee kid and she and Mohit legit gave me those dad daughter sad equation feels.

Sikandar and his wife had a track where he realised he loves her I cursed the show and left watching...that witch tortured her and you love her??? Give me a damn break 😂😂😂😒

I think Sikandar was more at fault. Like how casually guys in ITV have two wives and no one bats and eye because the guy only loves the female lead or female lead's mother. Lovely was a very flawed character, but it's very wrong to marry someone and love someone else.

Baad me lovely ka boyfriend Champu turned rockstar Balle Balle Tewari aa gaya tha. I thought thank God. Finally one sane adult but even he abandoned Kulfi after finding out she is not his birth daughter.

He's such a bechara poor abla nara mard who was tortured by everyone. Stupid guy

Yeah these men carry a shrine for dead wives and marry some other girl cause bechara was pushed into it then the wife become vamp. Sikandar was conveniently bechara. For kulfi he took a lot of stands never for lovely

Oh yeah that guy ran seeing daily tamasha of these folks all ate batshit crazy 😂😂😂 there are mahan.fls of itv and then there is kulfi. Bakwas show

So true. You know in 2017 RS, in an interview, said that Kiara plot in Relationship show was brought because the show wanted to tap in “young audience.”

There's only a certain amount of time when something can be repeated. If we look at the Bhagya shows also, with each generation leap there has been some dip in the TRP but it has hit its lowest of low with the current season.

No matter what the reason is, Rishta's last two seasons are nowhere near to in terms of popularity when it comes to the first two seasons.

The same is happening here.

They got lucky the first time because audience loved Choti Savi and eventually accepted Badi Savi. Then with another leap, there was a dip in TRP but they also kind of became stabilized.

But the newest season had nothing going on for them.

Neither there is legacy factor, nor any strong character.

People may laugh as much as they want to but both Sai and Savi were extremely driven. Their parents' death actually directed the show forward. Whether it was Virat or Ishan, they had somewhat justified reason to get into a marriage of convenience.

SaRaj era even though a blatant copy-paste product of YHM, Rajat had strong enough personality.

None of these things were present this time.

There's a difference between a polite, shy character and being spineless. Neel's character had potential but they turned him into a creep in no time. If it weren't for Param, half the people wouldn't show this character so much of sympathy.

Same goes for Rituraj. Neither he has any solid reason to become Patralekha, nor is he a good person like Reeva. And Tejaswini isn't rejected because she's not strong. By that logic, audience would have never accepted Sai or Savi. Tejaswi's delusion about Rituraj was a huge turn off for a lot of people.

I have nothing but sympathy and good wishes for the new cast, specially Vaibhabhi.

But that doesn't take away the truth that this season was bound to be doomed for all sort of reasons.

season 1 is my all time favourite of all serials .. I love virat and I appreciate ishaan a lot but that does not take away the fact that

that Rajat in retrospect was a self made man and he was the first Ghum hero who was not manipulated by his family .. Rajat was a rational person and literally was the one giving the whole family a luxurious life .. Savi was not working and was not hard up at all because Rajat made everything comfortable for all .. his parents were nice and they respected his in laws a lots .. Thakkars and bhosles were quite a family together

I don’t like this bring back Savi .. if they were so keen on bhavika they could have brought her humshakal .. someone distantly related to Sai or virat or vinu’s illegitimate daughter.. who looks like Savi

Vinu was Savi’s own brother .. so if he had a fling with a college mate she could end up looking like her bua Savi

If they bring back Savi .. what is going to happen with thakkar family , chhoti Sai .. and Savi’s own child with Rajat .. what about thakkar Parivar along with isha n shantanu

isn’t it easier to just get Bhavika as Savi’s humshakal

Yeah they compromised on Savi’s character by this move.

Legal Wife and fiancee ko ITV me jhaadu poche ki tarah treat karte hain just because she is not female lead and 'turu lobb' of male lead.

Yes, 'young audience' brought a very bad trend of 'chemistry' and 'aesthetics and fancy dress attire' taking precedence over an emotionally-involved story. I remember in early 2000s, I used to be so invested in lead characters' fates and actually wish intensely for their union. Now I just feel repelled whenever Sitara leads come on screen (case in point shows like Jhanak, Anupamaa's bhashan, YRKKH)
