Rosy, I am not giving any suggestions in the above comment. I was just discussing on what TJ said.
That means if players have hit same no of 4 s with same strike rate, then the one who scored more total runs will get points.
Did you check the impact of each player in a game which Cricinfo provides at the end of each match?
They consider all these parameters to decide the impact.
Cheers..

Hi Sunshine,
As a supporting team we try to resolve issues amicably. In a scheme of things we do face hiccups occasionally. This is one of them.
While updating scores the system allows if the entry is left blank.
But, once a name is selected, it can not be removed. When we made a decision not to award points to either Prasidh or Rashid, whichever name was already selected could not be removed. So, Sakariya's name was added intentionally to make the entry null and void. Members who have predicted Rashid or Prasidh may have noticed 50 point change in their totals for that match. Madhu already shared this issue with members via a DT note.
Rest assured, there won't be any change in individual points of every other match and grand totals of each member.
Cheers..
My comment wasn't just about Rashid -Prasidh
If there is a tie-breaker between 2 or 3 players, enter any one name into the system, but still award points to those who selected the correct player
Aisi suitation baar baar nhi aane wali.. it's a once in a blue moon thing
then better impact I guess
Prizi that will remain the same.
We r only discussing if 2 players have same no of 4 s and same strike rate.
Then who will get points.
Bt in this caseil if you follow cricinfo for better impact players then it'll be not only batting points..even in taking catches they add points

Here the issue is two batsmen scoring (let us say) 70 runs each with the same strike rate.
Your solution works if they are from two different teams and one lost the match by x number of runs. In that case batsman from the losing team will become the winner because he made more percentage of runs out of his team total.
But if they both are from the same team, then the percentage of runs scored out of the team's total will be the same for both players.
What you have explained is one of the factors which determines the impact and cricinfo nicely tables impact of each player in each match. We can use that as a guide (option one) to break the tie.
Cheers.
Oh right! I probably didn't go there. I can still argue with some stupid deviations but leave it for now.
I will be back with something after a brainstorm.
The main reason behind opening this poll is to break the tie if there are 2 or more players emerge as winners in each of those categories.Originally posted by: -Sunshine

We have to find a way to decide that one name in case of a tie.
The current limitation is, we can't have two players in any of those categories and please understand we have to work within those limitations.
System can't add or delete points from individual members' scores. Once we submit our predictions they are locked. No one can touch them.
Once the match is finished, manual intervention is required to enter winning details. Based on those inputs, with a click of a button, the system automatically updates our points, adds those points to our overall score and awards badges to the winner/s of the prediction game.
I request you all to participate in the poll to find a way to break the tie.
Cheers..
Yes, if the player is an all rounder the total impact is based on both batting, bowling and fielding. For others it is either batting and fielding or bowling and fielding. But there is a column which specifies batting impact and bowling impact which can be used to break the tie for highest runs and highest wickets respectively.then better impact I guess

Impact runs can be used to break the tie for 4s and 6s.
Cheers..

Dot ball %
As dot balls are now an integral part of IPL initiatives. It may be considered as one of the deciding factors.
It will be miraculous if both batsmen have played same amount of dot balls.
Also batting position may be considered. If both are openers the batsman who took the strike will be 2nd choice.
Boundary count may be out of equation already.
May not be the batting position, but dot ball % is one of the factors cricinfo considers when deciding the batting impact along with how well they maneuvered the good balls, how well they punished the bad balls, how well they used the power play and other conditions etc,. That is why we proposed the impact option.Originally posted by: tomnjerry2

Case of Tie for 4s/6s with best strike rate
🔸In case of a tie between an 'Impact Player' and a Playing XI player, it may be better to award the points for the Impact Player.
🔸In the event of a tie between two Playing XI players, award the points for the player with the highest streak of consecutive fours/sixes.
For example, if both players hit a total of 8 fours, but Player A hits 3 consecutive fours in one stretch, and Player B hits 4 consecutive fours in one stretch, award the points for Player B because 4 is a longer streak than 3.
🔸If a tie still persists after above case, the 'majority wins' principle should be applied - awarding the points to the player chosen by the majority of participants in the relevant prediction category, i.e., the player with the highest percentage in that category.
Case of Tie for Highest runs with best strike rate
First point is same as above.
Second, award the points to the player with the 'better batting impact' or the 'highest percentage in that category'.
