Bakul Thacker's aka Lalit Chachu of Kkusum professional life has taken a new flight as he has bagged a role in an episodic series called The Curse of Tutankhaman.

Thacker throws more light on the series, "The Curse of Tutankhaman is a series of five episodes. This is a fiction based on King Tutankhaman of Egypt. A group of archaeologists and dacoits are exploring the tomb to discover the treasure that was buried with the King. Where the archaeologists are on an expedition for national interest, the dacoits are obviously on the search for their own interest."

"I play the role of Helfire, a dacoit. I have a very interesting guise to pull off. I wear loose trousers, jackets, a head-gear like a turban, which is typical of traditional Egyptians. I will also be carrying a sword," he says.

Sharing more details on the series, he says, "We have shot the scenes in Rajasthan. We had a unit team of as big as 400 people, but never was it a chaos. It was always a systematic schedule. The series will take a lot of time for post-production as they will use a lot of graphics to show sand storm etc. We couldn't shoot in Egypt at the real tomb as according to an Egyptian legend, it is believed that if one goes near the tomb, one dies."

The series also stars Parveen Dabbas among Indians. The rest of the cast are foreign. It will be telecast on HBO in the year 2006.


WHO WAS TUTANKHAMAN?

Tutankhaman was the King of Egypt from 1347-1339 B.C. The treasures of Tutankhaman have been marvelled at since their discovery by Howard Carter on November 4, 1922. The emptying of Tutankhaman's tomb lasted several years and made possible the recovery of about 3500 articles, confirming the tomb as the most exceptional archaeological discovery ever made in Egypt.
