I just straight up googled his name and found the Wikipedia details on top. Didn't search any further. 
The ratings are indeed dropping... And frankly, I'm not too surprised because these days, not everyone opens the television to watch. Most people prefer to watch shows online.
Plus currently IPL is also going on... And most people watch matches. Even my father keeps switching channels to check the match score in between the episode breaks. So, the drop in TRPs these weeks is understandable... Can't say about other weeks though.

Same... I sincerely hope there is more to this. I'd even accept him being seriously injured and comatose somewhere and Barbosa magically replacing him with a fake body that magically passes all forensic tests (if they do some autopsy, DNA matching and stuff).
At this point, I'll take anything but him leaving the show and being replaced.

This ain't some saas bahu show which has 4 or 5 generation leaps and they can bring in any Tom , Dick or Harry just because he has a huge fanbase and that can help with the ratings.....this is CID , makers can't do this to us

Me too... I hope he is just a temporary addition.
Also, completely my personal opinion: even if they have to bring in someone as a temporary replacement, they should at least bring someone that fits the part.

Unfortunately they created an extremely negative buzz for me... I showed the article to my mom who watches the show with me and she outright said that if any one of the trio quite, she'll straight up quit watching the show.
Barbosa's entry should have been a high point in the show. It was supposed to be a big, bloody showdown... But they just had to show ACP Pradyuman dead and bring in a new one.
Still he is a kid compared to the rest of the cast

Mhm... Okay. I read the entire article.
They said he is not replacing ACP Pradyuman/Shivaji sir but technically, having him as the new ACP is a replacement in itself by default, no?
Besides, we have Abhijeet and Daya who have been working for 20+ years and they haven't received a single promotion (they are at the point where they can easily be promoted to ACPs of different teams or any other senior position) and they bring in a new head who is actually younger than them?
Conflicts between the team members and the new ACP... That is kind of expected and I am somewhat glad that they aren't going to show the team immediately accepting him as their new leader. So, this is one point I find decent...
But barring this one point, rest all is the same... I don't accept a new ACP. I quit if he is permanent.
That's it...
if its true, then all current cast should quit. No offence, my opinion
