There was one contestant who was taunting Gaurav saying uski koi dish viral nahi hui aur meri to kitni saari dishes viral ho gayi. One thought crossed my mind then too..but didn’t voice it out. But this is the right time to put it out..

If people can recreate ur dish at home easily why would they come to ur restaurant? Anyone can be a chef..differentiator between a chef n a masterchef is that u crave to have something made by the later..their dish makes u marvel, wonder and admire..u try to figure out how its made..it challenges ur imagination, ur skills.

I can make a Paneer Thecha at home, Rajiv made Khaandvi look easy though it isnt. But people would definitely try to make once. These dishes r delicious but not too difficult.

While I havent yet figured out how Gaurav made his smoky dip.

I think his smoky dish was a regular satay sauce (recipes for which are available online), he added ‘Veeba eggless mayonnaise’ and to give it a smoky flavour you can either infuse smoke from lighting charcoal or you get liquid smoke, add about a teaspoon to the sauce.

I saw that post of yours, but I wasn’t sure if that was the exact recipe. But looking closely, and listening to what he said, and the fact that he made Indonesian food, I’m quite sure that the recipe is pretty close to what I’ve told you.

I didn’t want to give out a recipe and sound like a know it all, until I was confident.

Hope you enjoy making it. Just a tip - satay sauce without mayonnaise tastes even better.
