Sailee was a character that was once relatable and enjoyable to watch. She was a character that grew, took time, and took practical decisions. From holding her family together to always standing up for them, Sailee was a breadwinner and knew her way around the streets. She was business-minded, not a typical over righteous woman who meddled her nose in everything she felt was against the established moral code of society.
When she first got married to Sachin, a man she didn't like, she doesn't just sit there and cry. She got up, took her life in her own hands, and pushed to make the marriage work. She understood that prioritizing her marriage would be beneficial for her in the long run and eventually grew feelings for him. She didn't shy away from those feelings and let him know. She was confident, likable, and strong, holding ambitions and dreams that made her unique, different, and relatable. Sailee never preached about things. She was a character that was realistic, who only cared about her life and the people close to her. Her priority used to be Sachin and her family. She wasn't even that inclined towards Paresh and respected him for his age and Sachin. She only put up with Renuka to keep peace in her home, but never used to let her go too far and neither did she care about Renuka's respect or the way Sachin talked to her.
Now, however, Sailee is turned into a typical irritating ITV FL who always preaches and feels that she is right. She has turned so doormat, infuriatingly wrong, and just ridiculous. Her priorities shifted from her marriage and career to pleasing Renuka and the villains. Sachin was NOT wrong when he slapped Joy because Joy went too far and was not stopping. Sailee condemning Sachin for that was ridiculous and so out of character when Sailee almost always supported Sachin for the fights he got into. This is clearly shown when he beat Tejas TWICE in front of her, a random man in front of her chawl, and when he beat Chandu and Sudhakar. Now, I understand that maybe she thought that Chandu and Sudhakar deserved it, but why didn't she speak up when he beat Tejas and that random man (she didn't care that he beat this guy and was concerned about the landlord instead)? Tejas was older than Sachin and Sachin only got into an argument with that random man.
Sailee used to be a character who didn't preach and moral policed. She was understanding and did believe that violence was needed to diffuse the situation sometimes. She felt like an actual person.
Joy accused Sailee of theft; Sachin kept calm. He accused their family; Sachin kept calm. He accused her family; Sachin still kept calm. He then suggested that she should beg; Sachin STILL didn't break his promise. At last, Joy decided to insinuate pr**titution for her which is when Sachin slapped him. It was justified and much needed!
Why on earth did Sailee condemn Sachin? Just because Joy was older? An old man insinuating that she should go sleep around to earn money shouldn't be slapped because of his age? Putting a comical BGM to their conversation doesn't make the situation seem funny. Sailee was pathetic. If she wanted to keep things calm then she shouldn't have made a spectacle in front of everyone, but even she knew that she needed her family's support here. When her husband actually stands up for her dignity, she decides the best thing to do is argue with him right after. Even if she prefers non-violence, she could've communicated that by not arguing but maybe hovering around the topic as they ate. Sailee straight out started blaming Sachin.
I'm usually pro-Sailee, but this just made me dislike her to the core. She defended a man who has no respect for women and his first thought to degrade women he sees below him is by character assassinating her. She put her own spouse down for standing up for her dignity. That crosses all the limits in destroying her character. NOBODY wants to watch a doormat, selfish, and absurd Sailee who can't speak up to her MIL but can criticize and gaslight the ML for being right.
So, if any of the makers are reading this, if the early version of Sailee, which was strong and practical, isn't being brought back then there is nothing unique or watch-worthy about UKA anymore. The audience is tired of watching mahaan, preachy, and self-righteous FLs who believe they are right even when they are wrong. Keep her unique with shades other than moral-policing. You have two main characters; destroying one of them will never give you high TRP. Sincerely requesting, stop copying the original show word-for-word and bring your own creativity. If your main character is getting bashed and disliked then it is obvious that something has gone awfully wrong so before any more people give up on this show fix your ways.
