But then there are those few people in life who make it worth it ... like my favvvvve author smiley27 Honestly I don’t know if u updated this for my bday or exams or whatever, but I’m taking it as my bday gift ...

>> Of course I had Feb 18 in my mind. Else I'd have taken longer to finish.

I’ve never been this happy over a gift before ... for real, this is the best one! No exaggeration. First off thank uu for the update, this means SO much, Jahnavi Dii. It’s 17/02 and I get an early present from u. I’ve never blackmailed anyone this much for a gift... except u! 😜

>> Happy to oblige. smiley31 aakhir the amount of time you give for me, I've to be respectful of it in some way.

Coming to the chapter,

can I just say, this chapter was EVERYTHING?!

>> Glad you felt that way. I thought readers will find it lacking due to less Jo-Ja interaction.

I’m so in love with the way you’ve captured Jodha’s internal struggles and Jalal’s emotions .... I’m just sitting here in awe at how deep this all goes

First of all, the way u wrote her vulnerability... like when Jodha admits her survivor’s guilt and her battle with herself ... especially this part

Survivor’s guilt is grueling, Jalal. Half the times I felt like killing myself and the other half I wanted to pounce on the world.

This hit SO hard because... like... it’s not just about losing her family but dealing with the aftermath. It's so real,...and u don’t sugarcoat any of it. You show her struggle... not just with grief...but with her inner demons. It's just… I can't even explain the feeling it gave me. It's the kind of grief that gets inside your soul and refuses to let go smiley13

>> Hope I did some justice. Grief is too personal and intense. Its hard to put into the shoes of a sufferer and pen their emotions.

And the way she talks about coping with the driving phobia and the

I sucked it up and drove daily

line is so relatable too... It’s like how she’s facing life head-on... even when it’s tough. I am in love with you Jodha Akkineni !!!

>> Yeah... respect to all individuals who suck up and get along with life.

The part where Jalal gets all possessive about not being part of the anniversary ceremony is chef’s kiss smiley43smiley37 jaelous yet understanding...honestly, his little internal apology for being a "sentimental fool" had me chuckling because he’s SO that, but it’s adorable smiley43 I love how vulnerable and human he is

>> After all, what is love without a pinch of envy?smiley36

Samyu literally a lifesaver and a solid friend ... That’s the kind of friendship we ALL need in our lives ... Such a wholesome moment

I’m kind of obsessed with their friendship ... my bestie is same lol (we are together since sr kg) ... threatening and forcing me into things for my good. My mumma loves her more than me smiley18

>> Lucky you. That kind of friendship doesn't come easily or to everyone.

and then the anklet??? Oh Bhaiii!!! so beautiful. despite all their struggles the little things they do for each other say so much .... I love the quiet tenderness in their relationship that doesn’t always need wordssmiley42

>> yeah and I personally like the part when Jalal says I can be upset and still meet you.. Love for me is that, not forgetting the real feelings when other emotions like anger, ego, pride or envy overtake. we should be able to keep the affections alive and inclusive, despite the differences

and this part ... Did you try?

he’s not just asking as a casual question.... he’s genuinely trying to understand what she went through... Mummy kasam, every time he expresses his concern for her.... it just hits me right in the chest smiley43 The way he sees her as a person.....he wants to know the real Jodha, her scars, her pain, and every part of her that she’s kept hidden...so much emotional smiley42

>> Yes... it was important for him to know if she had suicidal tendencies because grief is a sneaky bit*ch... it brings even the most gritty people to their knees.

I won't say much about Jodha recalling that incident because I honestly cannot express my feelings through words. Will just say you made us feel the exact devastation Jodha went through in that moment !

Now when our dashing don says

I can be upset and still meet you

like, YES !!!! smiley43smiley42 Jalal’s possessiveness .... He’s upset but still wants to be there for her .... Unwaverinn support even when things get tough

The way Jodha teases Jalal

Not that I’d…mare meri dushman! You are stuck with me for life Jalal babu

is sooooo adorable yaar! smiley36 these twp .... they balance each other perfectly

I can get quite persuasive Ahmed saab! and Bring it on babe.

The confidence, the sass, the chemistry ufffff smiley43smiley41

>> smiley36

Okay... after this chapter.... I’m in love with Jalal even more smiley43 Before...I was a bit doubtful, but now I’m 100% sure.....I'm rejecting every ladka in the future because I ONLY want PBD ka Jalal, NJAPA ka Jalal or HBAS ke Khan Sahib smiley42

>> Good luck with that :)

Anddddd... don’t forget, Dii! Jodha is supposed to be in Goa in November for Sravanthi’s wedding... Andddd now they should realize they’ve already met each other there 😉

>> As you say so smiley36

Please dear Dii ...have someone from your family read this... I’m not even joking... They'll be behind you 24/7 asking for updates... hum chain ki zindagi jeeyenge fir smiley37

>> Not even in my dreams. I actually stop typing as soon as my daughters barge in. I don't feel comfortable with anyone I personally know reading my work.

Lastly, I’m 1000% hooked ... Update soon PLEASE! smiley14 4 months for ek update thik hai ... 4 saal nahi ... please smiley39

>> Will try my best :)

PS - You probably noticed I didn’t comment on the suspected killer's name . I’m still too shocked to process that Rao could have done this or anyone from family for that matter...Guess I’ll just wait for your next update !!!!!

>> Yes.. we will get more insight into the backstory soon.

Also no comment on Abhi wala scene as well because I really have nothing to say on that. I kind of expected it you know. Sooner or later. Just surprised ki itna jaldi expectation ..reality mein badal gaya 😆 it will be fun to watch Jealous Jalal after hearing about this from Jodha in future 😆

>> That was not for Jalal to be jealous but to bring light on Prameela's love and attachment for Jodha. Saradhi's will be a natural bond since she's his brother's daughter, direct blood. But I thought I should present Prameela's side so readers won't think of her love less.

Off-topic, but I’m seriously obsessed with your FF... no joke... I came across this post on Insta that says Cancerians get emotionally attached to fictional characters smiley37....I usually don’t believe in astrology or zodiac stuff on social media pages, but this one... (ignore the first twosmiley36see the 3rd one)

Screenshot 2025-02-17 174714.png

>> Not ignoring first one since I've seen your raid plans and request letters. You do create elaborate scenarios. I'm sure overthinking part isn't off the mark as well. 2nd one I'm not sure about.. only you can speak for it :)

I think it’s true. It’s totally me...smiley37 I’m still obsessed with NJAPA and HBAS even though they’re completed. Just imagine how crazy your FF makes me given it's ongoing smiley38smiley42smiley36

>> Totally agree with the obsession for a well-written character. When Lashy said her husband found NJAPA Jalal too much (or too fictional) I fought tooth and nail against her husband's opinion. smiley37

Please Update soon. 4 months ka time I'm giving yousmiley15smiley7

PS 2 : Chetan Bhagat... Jane Austen... who? You and Shraddha Dii are the ONLY ones who truly inspire me when it comes to writing....

>> That's too tall a statement smiley1

I'm sorry I couldn't read much of your work yet. I read a few chapters here and there but you've a knack for penning simple emotions beautifully. Not every scene needs high dosage of drama. I felt beauty in simplicity from the few excerpts I read. Keep weaving magic girl.

Will update asap... thanks for the constant supportsmiley31

And the way you put words to emotions baapre hats off to u smiley32 I felt like i was sitting in the back seat of the car watching Joja conversation.

>> How was the ride thirdwheel?smiley36

Why do I still feel Rao is not the only one behind this whole ordial? Idk if I'm right or wrong but still. Also one thing I've learnt over the years about you is to expect the unexpected. The chapter went into totally different tangent bit it was very very beautiful and also needed.

>> Tell me what were you expecting.

Grieving is different for everyone and the way you portrayed it was commendable.

>> yeah... it was difficult to get it right as I've no clue how to imagine such deep losses. Glad you guys commiserated with it.

The way she said her hands were off and everything blurred.. you made me step into her shoes and idk I feel immense respect towards her and you for being so in sync with a character.. and it is this that pours life in these characters making them eternal.

>> thanks for mentioning it :)

Like always it was absolute pleasure reading the Chapter. But tbh waiting for the next chapter just got more harder after reading this.

Hope the next chapter will be worth the wait... c ya soon!

Amazed with the unexpected update ... Btw I got into the forum accidentally and chanced upon this story few years ago...when it stayed with chap 42 I.e I got to read the entire story till the proposal at a stretch...believe me , i so relished it that once I started I prioritized it over food n sleep. N was reading , overwhelmed with proposal ......n boom....It ended there.... Distressed by seeing many FFs aboned by authors in the very forum... I couldn't cope up the disappointment.

>> True we all have grand plots in mind and start off writing with great enthusiasm but not all of us can keep it up and see to its end. As a reader, I personally don't pick an unfished story, so I feel your frustration. I strive to finish PBD for the very reason. Hopefully I will one day.

Then went on searching after this amazing author to get healed by her other works - for her writing style n envision of Love n romance was what all my genre of reading is.

>> Thank you and glad that you like my style.

Read - re read all ur OSES God knows how many times.. And had my own fairyworld with this lovely couple (for whom I visited this forum on first place and still is ) Would imagine varied climaxes/follow up for our PBD couple after chap 42..all these years..n was literally weaving a dreamworld...yet visited the forum every now n then hoping against hopes.

>> Share some of those climaxes with us. We will enjoy too.

Then happened ur much desired presence with an update..🤩..that i took time to process the happenings.. I cut my classes n sat and read the very moment..as PBD is something i so emotionally connected with that I can't prioritize other works efficiently. Then the next update happened an year after. And the recent one now... I can't be a silent reader anymore and want to REQUEST on Regular updates pleaseeee🙏..

>> thank you for breaking the silence and taking time to drop in a word. means a lot.

And Would love the most to read ur other works aswell if i can somewhere pls....@jhaanavi/hemakeerti ( if am not wrong ,I inferred from the chats so far that ur pen Name is Hemakeerti n ur actual name is Jhaanavi sis ) That way it keeps me going..

PLEASE KEEP WRITING...U R A WONDERFUL WRITER.

There are no other works expect what I've on the front page index. yes I'm Jahnavi. hema and keerti are my daughers. Will stay in touch

Thanks for another wonderful update! This chapter provided deeper insight into the characters’ emotions while also revealing the identities of Raghu and Vasudha’s killers.

>> So much in the open in this chapter, hain na?

“But! Rao sighed, his gaze trailing off the window. How else does he douse this blazing wildfire eating away at his...”

The first part of this chapter captures Rao’s inner conflict and overwhelming guilt effectively. However, I find it hard to accept his line of thinking:

“What’d these people have done, what choices they’d have made, if ever life had offered them the same recourse that it...”

These murders weren’t impulsive acts driven by raw emotion; they were carefully orchestrated out of revenge, greed, and meticulous planning. A murderer might justify their actions based on circumstances or beliefs, but why this dramatic self-reflection? Is he trying to evoke sympathy to avoid suspicion?

>> Well... everyone loves to defend themselves. We are all right in our places. No one knows what he did, so he's not trying for sympathy, at least not yet. The upcoming chapters will reveal more of his side of story and we can bring this up then again.

The conversation between Partha Saradhi and Prameela was, as always, a delight to read. I have always enjoyed their dynamic—their playful banter, their concerns about Jodha, their curiosity about his job and daily life, and, most importantly, their unwavering moral support for each other. This time was no different. They truly embody the wisdom of an elderly couple!

>> Glad you enjoyed it ya. A couple without children are more emotionally dependent on each other than those with children, isn't it? Their dynamic hits differently.

I particularly loved this line: “Maybe then people will stop going for each other’s throats and invest their energy in bringing up resilient and...” While Prameela focuses on the emotional aspects of Jodha’s married life, Partha Saradhi takes a more holistic approach, considering her future responsibilities as well. Jodha is incredibly lucky to have them, especially after losing her own family.

>> Well put... you explained them very well.

Now, Jahnu—what’s going on with Abhi’s sudden interest in Jodha? What are you up to? Are you setting up a checkmate for Ja-Jo with this proposal? After all, Jodha can’t say ‘no’ to her Pedamma!

>> You think she won't? smiley36 Anyway we all know they'll end up together. Why fret unnecessarily?

I fully agree with you Jahnu on this: “As it is, marriage, kids, in-laws, finances, career – these modern age women have too much on their plates”

>> We are the victims of it. of course we know smiley2

“He picked his phone to dial the best in class security firm the ACP recommended”. - Is Jo already under surveillance or will it start from Hyderabad trip?

>> wait n watch :)

Jodha and her adventures - Poor Jalal! He has a bright future!

>> Oh he loves her adventuressmiley37, don't you think so?

PBD Readers: “We.can. get.quite. persuasive Jahnu to get the next update!”smiley7

Jahnu to PBD lovers: “Bring it on babe! I am waiting!”

Love

🌹

You are persuasive enough. Don't become more than that. Pressure can be detrimental to my already snail paced writing. Love ya loads smiley31

OMG, means a lottt smiley43 I wish I could have a birthday every two months!

>> Glad you felt that way. I thought readers will find it lacking due to less Jo-Ja interaction.

Stop assuming we're only here for Jo-Ja... okay... we are, but Pruthvi and Samyu's budding love has us just as hookedsmiley42 Basically, I love every word, every scene, every sentence of this FF.

I know, I got it the moment I read the paragraph where Prameela explains how Jo will handle schoolwork with marriage etc etc, leaving Saradhi in awe. But of course, Prameela will bring it up with Jo... and Jo will tell Jalal, right? Unless you have something else planned?smiley37tho I am assuming thoda masti wala update milega ... smiley36 jealous Jalal
