Finally watched it today.

Given the number of posts about corporate bookings, I was skeptical when BookMyShow showed the screen to be full. Guess what…it genuinely was. Mainly young college crowd.

There wasn’t a single second when we didn’t cheer or hoot or clap. Ravikumar does continuous dialoguebaazi and the crazy part was we were looking forward to each one of them.

Every song was a banger. Tandoori Days and Taj Mahal got massive cheers as expected, everyone got on their feet and started dancing. Mind you, the audience wasn’t your typical single screen audience but we were all so involved that we didn’t care about “behaving”, everyone just wanted to enjoy themselves to the fullest.

Its OTT, illogical and insane. We know it, the makers know it. And its exactly what they wanted to give us. Their self aware nature is why it works.

There were a couple of people in their 50s who said the way we were all reacting was the way the crowds would back in the 90s.

Badass Ravikumar is a genuine experience. I wont even say that it falls in the “its so bad that its good” category. Its genuinely a great spoof. Himesh knew exactly what he was doing when he decided to make this movie. And lets just say he nailed it.

This is one movie that needs to be rewatched with family, friends or anyone looking forward to have legit fun and a good time. It's been so long since Bollywood delivered something which could make us unwind and relax.

The best part is undoubtedly that it stays true to its genre of spoof/brainrot and is unapologetic about it.

Himesh delivered every bit as Ravikumar but props to Prabhudeva too for he nailed Carlos. They had superb chemistry with each other.

Exactly. Those laughing at my previous post missed the main point of the movie: badass logic, logic optional. I did think it would be one of those "its so bad that its good". Surprisingly it was genuinely good for a spoof/brainrot/satire.

Himesh is very self-aware and knows the "Lord HR" lore, hence he unapologetically built an entire movie around it. I won't be surprised if he brings the cap for the next one. Also may I say he really turned himself into a hero physically for this film. Those Tandoori Nights workout reels have paid off.

Carlos was the bomb man. Forget Madhubala and Laila, Ravikumar's soulmate is Carlos. Low key gon miss him in the sequel smiley36
