Amitabh Bachchan’s son-in-law has landed himself in trouble. Businessman Nikhil Nanda, who is married to Bachchan’s daughter Shweta Bachchan, has been named in a case recently registered at the Dataganj Police Station in Uttar Pradesh’s Badaun district. Several other officials of a tractor company have also been booked for fraud and abetment to suicide.
According to reports, a resident of Papad Hamzapure village, Gyanendra, filed a complaint at the Dataganj police station. In his application to the court, he stated that his brother Jitendra ran a tractor agency, Jai Kisan Traders, in Dataganj. According to Gyanendra, Jitendra was pressured to boost sales by the company’s area manager Ashish Baliyan, sales manager Sumit Raghav, UP head Dinesh Pant, financier collection officer Pankaj Bhaskar, sales manager Amit Pant, sales head Neeraj Mehra, CEO Nikhil Nanda, and Shahjahanpur dealer Shishant Gupta, who visited the dealership.
If the sales didn’t improve, they allegedly threatened to revoke his dealership license and put his property up for auction. Unable to deal with the extreme pressure, Jitendra shared his concerns with his family and often revealed the harassment he was facing.
Later, on November 21, the officials allegedly visited Jitendra’s agency one last time to harass him. On November 22, Jitendra ended his life, his brother said. He further alleged that the police did not take any action despite a complaint being filed.
As the case details spread like wildfire, company CMD Nikhil Nanda, the UP head of the firm, along with the area manager, sales manager, Shahjahanpur dealer, and three others, were booked by the police on the basis of a court order for allegedly abetting agency owner Jitendra Singh’s suicide.
