Yes. There’s a Dharma movie with that long title Tu Meri … that stars Kartik and Ananya (she’s not officially confirmed yet). That one hasn’t even gone into production yet. This one is basically what was supposed to be Aashiqui3 before Mukesh Bhatt and Basu had a fallout and Bhatt walked away. This will have to have a different title because Bhatt owns the rights to Aashiqui franchise.

The teaser is unimpressive because Kartik is not made for these kind of serious roles. And the lyrics and the music are a 👎🏽. I don’t think T-series and Kartik’s goal here was to impress the audience. The goal was to make the audience think this was Aashiqui3 without having to use the title.

Here’s my prediction. They’ll leak as much as they can about this movie, possibly even release a song earlier than usual. If the audience responds to it then fine, if not they’ll start associating it with Aashiqui3 more directly until Mukesh Bhatt takes legal action and controversy ensues. Nothing gives a dull movie hype better than controversy 🤷🏽‍♀️
