The stand outs were Stree 2 and Munjya with support from Bhool Bhuliyaa 2, Shaitaan and Article 370. Just five HITS in the whole year from the Hindi film industry and this does not look like getting better anytime soon.

Let the producers worry about box office numbers. As an audience, it's time we start looking beyond just earnings, especially when some of the best content is coming from OTT rather than theaters. Does anyone care how much All We Imagine as Light made? No, because the acclaim and recognition it brought to Indian cinema is something we haven’t seen in ages. The five hits don’t compare to Laapataa Ladies or Chamkila, of which LL made only a fraction of their earnings. If we want cinema to evolve, we need to change how we see it.

lets not decide for others now..i enjoy content..particularly on OTT but i also have interest in BO..verdicts and numbers..esp coming from a financial analysis and budgets profession..so let each do and worry (not that we worry) about what interests them..thats what a free world is right..

I get your point, but if this shift happens - this would actually further enable those nepo babies whose film flop, they will use their PR to spin the story, which is something Varun has tried to do already. Whats problematic is that these nepo babies are the very reason for Bollywood's downfall.

Also one month into 2025, and we have zero hits and most upcoming films look like duds to me as well.
