if you are a women you know when harassment happens they are yet to realize what has happened. Shock isn’t visible in face doesn’t mean they have no issues . Please don’t dismiss harassment under the blanket they had no issues . It willl probably take some time for them to realize and react to whatever happened. They all came for selfie not even a hug .

I just watched the clip again and Clochette is right. None of them was shocked or offended. The one I assumed got uncomfortable was one of those event manager girls and he later tried to touch her cheek. She was visibly annoyed and so were her colleagues. The selfie women , again except for the first one ,knew what was going on there. When you walk up to a guy who is kissing women inappropriately that counts as consent. This is a concert ,not a place of work so no 'power dynamics' at play here. The one who got kissed in the mouth kissed him on the cheek first . Now that doesn't excuse what he did, he's still the creep he is but harassment would be the wrong way to put it. At the end of the clip he is beckoning one more woman to come closer. I'm no prude but this video makes me want to wash my mouth.

I went to the Rewind Concert yesterday with Alka Yagnik, Udit Narayan, and Kumar Sanu. Got grossed out after seeing how tharki the male singers are

I was so excited for this show, I’m a 90’s baby and I just love the vibes and music from 80’s and 90’s movies and it was guaranteed that I knew all the songs. Seeing your favorites for decades being performed live by the original singers and musicians was an amazing experience.

The 3 singers performed in ~20 mins sets of their own before coming together at the end. Kumar came out first and I noticed he was making lewd comments at the female host and hold her arm and waist. She was complimenting him as an artist with facts about his career and he totally turned it around and said “aapko dekh kar to bolti band ho gayi hai gaane kaise gau ga” She was visibly uncomfortable and it put me out for a bit but ignored it so I can enjoy the show.

Alka went next and she’s amazing of course, she did her biggest hits, teased us a bit and then went into a medley to make the most of the time. She looked gorgeous in her purple dress! Alka’s voice was so surreal to hear live and her small gestures to show she was feeling the music. I especially enjoyed her performance on Ek Do Teen!

Then comes out Udit, and he was accompanied by his wife Deepa few times to sing some parts. He was the most energetic in my opinion, doing dance movements and walking the stage a lot more than the other two. When the female host came out again, he also made comments about her appearance and touched her several times. She joked that his wife is here, but he said that it’s fine to have a wife but having a girlfriend is a thing too. I was grossed out, the host was maximum 30 years old and was being very professional. It must be so insulting to be reduced to your physical appearance and insinuating that he would sleep with her in front of hundreds of people.

Shortly after, Udit went backstage and Kumar and Alka came out to duet, in which he also touched her several times. Yes, the lyrics mentioned arms and being close, but she is a respected colleague who is trying to keep her composure. He would start at her shoulder and slide his hand down her arm. She even smacked him at one point and it was obvious it was out of frustration and not playful. Once the song ends she says into the mic “sanu ji aap gaate gaate chance na maare” to which he obviously only flirted back. It was so conflicting to watch that happen. I can only imagine what she deals with being on tour with them for months and backstage.

Then Udit comes out so it is the 3 of them, and he does the same to her. She comments that “aap bhi shuru matt hoiye” because they are getting to close to her and pressing up on her.

Trust me guys, I was so excited to see it he show as it was a Father’s Day gift, and I am aware there is a lot of stuff these powerful guys must get away with over their careers. I tried to ignore in the beginning but it became too much and I lost enthusiasm when I saw how Alka was responding to the touches. I can’t imagine trying to do what you love on stage and some old tharki guys keep touching you and embarrassing you, and trying to react gracefully.

All in all, it was a good show till that happened and it was hard to ignore. Who knows what all these female singers also have to deal with in private.
