Have you watched the Indian movie about the same story? It has Rishi Kapoor as the BIL and it is clear that it is the male lead character. FL was played by Hema Malini.

I haven't watched it but I know it's story. Affan is doing Hum tv drama after a long time so I was guessing it could just be a cameo role.

I think actors do cameos only if they are offered big roles from the same channel.. like when Affan did a cameo in Meherposh, then GEO casted him as lead in Kasa E Dil and Dil Awaiz. Why should Affan accept a cameo in a HUM show. They didn't do him any favor.
