@bold: that's true. he is not a typical writer and with SMD he has gone to another extreme with his unconventional writing.

he said ammar is ghatiya insan. even in precap dania is also calling him ghaiya. but then she says i have resentment towards love, someone can fall in love with a ghatiya insan like you and also a ghatiya insan like you can fall in love smiley36

and the thing is KRQ seems to somehow justify each and every act of ammar. even his dialougue 'if i divorce her she will fall directly into bilal abdullah's arms' is gonna turn out to be true smiley36

KRQ has adopted a pragmatic approach while writing the characters in SMD. it is more like someone can't be good all the time and someone can't be bad all the time either. except a few selfless people like bilal.

this show is about toxic love of ammar as much as it is about selfless love of bilal. a very different take on toxic love, you won't ever see in any other show.

I like that no one is perfect, even Bilal in my opinion. His love might be pure but he himself isn’t perfect. I appreciate that they are showing toxic people because they do exist. I just don’t want toxic love to win in the end. I guess I just don’t want the message in the end to be that Sadaf overreacted and should have just put up with everything Ammar put her through. She has her faults for sure but no woman should just accept that kind of a toxic husband.

Also about the falling in Bilal Abdullah’s arms part, I truly believe that Sadaf was developing feelings for Bilal. Ammar was aware of this fact or at least the fact that Bilal was interested in Sadaf even before the proposal. He used to say that he wants to be Bilal Abdullah. Clearly he feels very insecure of him and he’s conscious of the fact that he superior to him in is stature, charisma and “style” (in his own words). The problem is that once Sadaf married him, she was fully committed. She was trying to be all loving with him to the point that it nauseated me. Ammar started things with Dania when Bilal wasn’t even in the country. Sadaf gave him no reason to be insecure. She would have stayed fully committed to him had he not shown his true colours. I mean, he literally pushed her into Bilal Abdullah’s arms. He gave her the opportunity to reflect on what she rejected….it isn’t so much that he was right all along.

@bold: this is what KRQ is showing. ammar was awful when he doubted sadaf and now his doubts are turning into reality. this is his punushment. the thing he feared the most is going to happen right in front of his eyes.

ammar's relation with dania is forgivable in KRQ's dictionary. but i don't think he will show toxic love win in the end unless ammar actually realises his mitakes and truely changes into a better person.

Bilal is not flawless either . We saw that he has the same regressive thoughts as Farzana and Hamsha.

I agree with SH’s review . No one has a problem with Sadaf divorcing Ammar but the way she is being so desperate to get back with Bilal Abdullah, a guy she herself rejected is a case of ‘ thooka hua ko chatna’ .

Sometimes I feel Haseeb himself failed to understand KRQ’s writing. If anyone has watched his previous shows, they should know that KRQ doesn’t write masala romance such as 30 sec eyelocks and leads staring at each other with loud background music at the background. These are ALL Haseeb’s additions to drag the show.

I am not sure those phone conversations with Bilal were supposed to be in good or bad light. Even now he is misleading audience cos Bilal came to play table tennis with Zaviyar, not meet Sadaf.

Honestly I see Ammar as the male Mehwish from MPTH. She was as despicable as Ammar but KRQ gave her a redemption arc. Same will happen to Ammar but his punishment would be losing Sadaf forever.

I feel like this is what makes it interesting. Even Bilal is unsure of her feelings. He’s in love with her but he isn’t jumping up with joy and accepting her advances. He’s questioning and challenging her feelings. Does she actually feel something or is she vulnerable and on the rebound? He even questioned if one person is unfaithful in a relationship then does it mean the other should be. Is she showing interest just because Ammar cheated on her? Personally I believe Sadaf was in the process of developing feelings for Bilal before she got caught up in Humsha’s lies and manipulations. I do believe she feels something for him and the regret and empathy she feels for him is real. Even then though, the timing is too soon.

Bilal has own issues stemming from his mother’s infidelity. It makes sense for him to hesitate as well. His own misogynistic thoughts came out as well and again probably attributes back to his mother. I also think that Bilal has only experienced love once and may not understand the concept of being able to fall in love again. It sounds like his father never did again after his mom left. He may not understand how Sadaf can fall for him after already being in love with Ammar. Was Sadaf actually in love with Ammar? I know she says she was and put a lot into her marriage but I’m doubtful of how in love she was with Ammar. She kind of forced herself to have certain feelings.

Sadaf is very impulsive and they have showed this time and time again. The one time she didn’t make a decision impulsively was when she ended her marriage. She tried everything to save her marriage but I feel her reputation of having an impulsive nature is working against her in everyone’s eyes.

Everyone is messy in this and have their own concepts of love. I find it interesting but if anyone is expecting and straightforward romance, that isn’t what this is. I still believe this isn’t meant to be massy but is more niche.

I feel Sadaf isn’t in love with Bilal yet. She might face his rejection now and might truly get to understand what is love. Same for Ammar after Dania betrays him. Bilal and Humsha understand love better cos they have already gone through heartbreaks.

Basically Haseeb tried to convert an Imtiaz Ali story into a SLB movie. Kadwani shouldn’t have made it into a mega project. This didn’t need the huge budget nor so many episodes.
