But other times if Elders are shown any wrongs or crimes, they will be still be respected as long as those wrongs or crimes are committed by the elders in being helpless, good intentions, etc.

So the fault clearly lies in the audience mindset. In India and other Asian countries parents are basically treated as if they are God's and can do nothing wrong especially the in laws

But still I fail to see how Vidya is helpless, what good intentions she had and how the hell she doesn't deserve what she got.
