I only know the first adaptation from a novel I didn't read, a movie with Gary Grant and David Niven done by a German director. I now read the plot of the remake which has some changes in the storyline...will try to watch it (when I can catch it) although I find the storyline of the original more gripping.

Yes, SRK in the role of the angel seems fitting to me... I think I would like Juhi Chawla in the role of the bishop's/preacher's wife (to be honest, I think I would like more a kind of Hindi version of the original/the novel because it's more in the direction: "Make attention of what you wish for"...like it had been in Ra.One, e.g.)
