Cute Mickey picture
What type of cookies?
Merry Christmas ! I usually lay out the Nativity scene and hang a star as well but this year it's just the tree and dinner. Too tired /bored . The ' christmas cake' looked good but tasted like benadryl. It was from a new place . Oh well.
I play carols from 5 to 10 pm then switch to this CD of Gregorian chants that sound very snowy and christmassy and back to Silent night at midnight on loop until we are done eating. We don't really have winter down here so you have to leave all the windows open to get some chilly air in; this is very important. Otherwise everything else is pointless. It has to be cold enough in the room for you to think about stars and mangers and the promise of peace and salvation and all that.
Movies...no. Well maybe on Christmas day later in the evening but zero screen time on the eve.
What about you, Priya ?

I always wondered why can’t Aditya Chopra remake the Whitney Houston movie Preacher’s Wife. Shahrukh Khan is the only suited one to play the role Denzel Washington did. The heroine is hard to find. Who can be of Whitney’s caliber? No one

Thanks for the whishes, Priya
Christmas eve (24th) is a family get-together (three housholds, alternately one being the host of the two others)...good food (long dinner) with subtle Christmas music in the background...then together in the room with the Christmas tree and the gifts (for the kids) under the tree...this time the kids making the adults singing and playing guitar, flute, trombone (cool and funny) - at other times playing a little play or reading out short Christmas stories...then kids opening the parcels and enjoying their gifts (mostly not knowing which persons bought what as the responsible always is the 'Christ Child' - even for the older ones)... then playing games like the Werewolf game, drinking red wine punch/non-alcoholic punch, eating self-made cookies, chatting...
the 25th is each family on its own, chilling, playing, watching movies, going for a walk etc.
26th sometimes is brunch with friends and chilling again

I’ve always been a big fan of Sriram Raghavan — whether it’s the deliciously unpredictable Andhadhun , or even the quieter, less-talked-about...
