Fair enough. If Pushpa 2 makers tied up with cinema halls to screen their movie only and cinema owners also agreed for same. It is business afterall. Who will give screen to this movie when they wont even recover parking charges as well

The Cinemas simply want the seats to be paid to be occupied,

and not the potential for them to be occupied, but not paid! smiley32

May be Motwane should invest into a multiplex and run all these film festival bound movies 365/24.

Good for them, all the shows are house full so it’s a win win situation for them.

P2 has had not had a decent occupancy since day2, Forget Hindi version it did not have decent occupancy even in Telugu version.

P2 is another example of how to create a PsuedoBlockBuster with low occupancy rates.

Theatres are struggling because they are not releasing multiple big ticket movies at the same time, in addition to other movies. Movies have composite audience , not everybody wants to see P2, if that would have been the case all screens for P2 would have have had more than 70-80% occupancy, but P2 was struggling at around 40-50% occupancy in many centres on day2 itself while movies like BB3 on day2 were raking in occupancy of about 60-70% in many centres.

so not having big entertainers ready for release more frequently is a Bollywood problem. the theaters will only play what is available to them. at a give time, which ever movie has the more buzz will be played on more screens. I enjoy watching english movies and lot of times, i have had watch them on smaller screens because the other screens were occupied by big big hindi or telugu movies.

p.s. i don't remember anyone denied BB3 the screens when it was playing well!

You fail to see the obvious, I really cannot simplify the discourse any more for you.
