Jigra on netflix!! - Review with spoilers

Its a good watch! Specially due to Alia. She is terrific as always. It was a good story too. Because it looked good both on Alia-Devang as well as Divya-Harshvardhan. Yes clearly the plot was the same but treatment was very different. Divya khosla was shown a damsel in distress (suited her personality) and harshwardhan a bichara while Alia is shown to be a brat, a borderline goon. And vedang a mature genz teenager. The main contrast between the two films is the main parallel lead , while Anil added to the energy that Divya terribly brought down , the parallel cast here complimented Alia.

Definitely not a career defining film for someone like Alia but had it come before Divya’s film and released on Netflix straight, it could have enjoyed the fame Darlings did.

I saw the movie

Basketball scene, meeting in jail, jailbreak, boat scene and climax were nice

I liked muthu in first half. Manij Pahwa was good too. Vedang has a promising future

Film was a bit slow, depressing and sad. Last 50 mins were good after Alia got injured. Alia looked like a school kid in prison break scenes

Diljit’s chal kudiye song was my favourite - worth watching

In the fight scene Alia made weird expressions and wailing noises, crying in boat scene

Saw it today. Underwhelming. It is all too convenient so much so that you stop taking the movie seriously. Yes for sure this could ever actually happen and that is where the movie fails to make any impact because you just cannot relate on any level. Prison break is such an interesting concept and prison break the series itself explored this with such finesse more than a decade ago. At least execute it in such a way that we can buy it or feel the thrill..

Direction & screenplay were below the mark and performances are strictly average, nothing to write much about. Manoj Pahwa was really good though.

No wonder it bombed.
