Hello, my fellow Bolly-crazed peeps. Hope everyone enjoyed the first round of this ongoing feature.
I once again bring to you the glitzy, glamorous and starry world of Bollywood as we recap a host of events that entertained us in the last couple of weeks.
1. Monday May 12th (Mumbai) – Sanjay Gupta threw a grand bash for his forthcoming film directed by Suparn Verma, Acid Factory. Verma debuted with Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena couple years back. The glittery event entertained the cast, crew and a few familiar faces from tinseltown. Acid Factory is set to release later this year.

2. Tuesday May 13th (Mumbai) – E Niwas'(Dum, Shool) latest project, De Taali's music was recently released at an event in Mumbai. The entire cast of the movie comprising of Ritesh Deshmukh, Ayesha Takia, Aftab Shivdasani and Rimi Sen were present at the event.
3. Saturday May 17th (Mumbai) – PVR Cinemas, one of India's largest and successful entertainment companies, inaugurated their third multiplex in Goregaon this past week. A buffed up Aamir Khan served as the chief guest at the event along with Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra. The actor has been working hard on his physique in the past year or so for his upcoming moving Ghajini to be released later this year. Aamir Khan Production's latest release Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na's promo was screened at the multiplex's opening. The mulitplex come equipped with the most hi-fi techs, six screens and can seat 1,782 people; sounds good, eh?
4. Sunday May 18th (Mumbai) - Sun Soul, a luxury fashion clothing and accessories store, opened a new branch in Mumbai with the glowing Dia Mirza being the special guest did the honours and cut the ribbon at the launch.

5. Sunday May 18th (Mumbai) – Sanjay Gupta's production house, White Feather Films, teamed up with Gitanjali Lifestyle to announce their joint gala event at this year's IIFA in Bangkok. The press meet was graced by Sanjay's latest flick, Acid Factory's cast consisting of Irfan Khan, Fardeen Khan, Dia Mirza, Dino Morea, Manoj Bajpai and Aftab Shivdasani.
6. Sunday May 18th (Mumbai) – Director Anil Devgan's, cousin of actor Ajay Devgan, latest film Haal-E-Dil, recently released its music album. The film is launching not one, not two but three newcomers. Producer Kumar Mangat's daughter, Amita makes her debut as the lead actress. Adhyayan Suman, son of Shekhar Suman, makes his debut as one of the two main leads while blue eyed boy Nakuul Mehta plays the other. The movie is slated for release on June 20th.
7. Wednesday May 14th-18th (Cannes, France) – The 61st Annual Cannes Film Festival was held few weeks back and couple of our Bollywood beauties were there to grace the event. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan walked the red carpet as an ambassador for the cosmetic brand L'Oreal while Preity Zinta was there as the ambassador for the jewelry brand Chopard. Preity being the busy bee that she is with her IPL team was only present at the festival for one day. Aishwarya, on the other hand, made quite a few appearances during the festival. To give her company, hubby Abhishek Bachchan was also present at the festival as were her in-laws, Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan. And no Bachchan family appearance is every complete with their politician come family friend, Amar Singh.

8. Monday May 19th (Mumbai) – Leading mobile communications company, Nokia, announced its partnership with World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF-India) for a tiger conservation initiative in India. Both companies discussed their concern about the population decline of tigers in India and how they plan to tackle this situation. Veteran actor Farouq Sheik along with John Abraham,Vivek Oberoi and MP Priya Dutt were also present at the event to lend their support. If you recall, both John and Vivek starred in 2005 released movie Kaal that addressed the issue of tiger conservation.

9. Tuesday May 20th (Mumbai) – The much awaited music release of Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na was finally witnessed last week. Producer Aamir Khan, director Abbas Treweyala, music director AR Rahman, Mansoor Khan and lead pair Imran Khan and Genelia D'Souza dropped by Shaami Kapoor's residence where the music was officially released. Ever since Aamir's debut with Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, Shaami Kapoor has been seen as a lucky charm in his life and it only made sense that when his nephew, Imran Khan, is stepping into the Bollywood scene that it was done with Shaamiji's blesssing as well. This was Imran's first public appearance and although he didn't speak to the media directly, he stood beside his Maamu dearest all through the press meet. Aamir Khan crooned to a few lines from the movie's song as did the film's lead actress Genelia D'Souza.

10. Wednesday May 21st (Mumbai) - Brook Bond Tea celebrated its 100 crore consumers mark during a press meet in which Sharmila Tagore along with daughter Soha Ali Khan were present. On this happy occasion Brook Bond unvieled 60 golden tea cups which are made with 22 karat gold each by leading jewellry brand Gitanjali. One golden cup will be given out everyday for the next two months.
11. Thursday May 22nd (Mumbai) – Director Priyadarshan's latest comic relief, Mere Baap Pehle Aap, held its music launch last week. The movie's lead pair Akshaye Khanna and Genelia D'Souza were present at the event along with Archana Puran Singh. The movie releases on June 13th.

12. Friday May 23rd (Mumbai) – Dhoom Dhadaka released in theaters this past Friday and I bet many of you did not know that. I don't blame you, movie does not look all that promising and going by the reviews, it wasn't. But hey, that didn't stop its makers from throwing a premiere for the movie with its cast and crew coming in to celebrate. The movie stars Sameer Dattani (Life Mein Kabhi Kabhi), Shaad Randhawa (Woh Lamhe), Aarti Chaabria and TV actress Shama Sikander, who makes her debut.

13. Friday May 23rd (Mumbai) – Bunty Sajdeh, chief operating officer of Cornerstone Sport & Entertainment Pvt Ltd. threw a bash for a private screening of the European Championship League. The night was celebrated together by IPL teams Kings XI Punjab and Mumbai Indians.

14. Saturday May 24th (Mumbai) – The cast and crew of Yash Raj Films latest venture, Thoda Pyar Thoda Magic, came out to entertain the precious children from various orphan homes in Mumbai. Director Kunal Kohli along with cast members Saif Ali Khan, Rani Mukherji, Amisha Patel and music trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, danced, sung, and brought a whole lotta smiles on the faces of the little children.

15. Sunday May 25th (Mumbai) – The charitable organization, Cancer Patients Aid Association (CPAA) organized a non-smoking event this past week. Bollywood hunkstars, Arjun Rampal and Milind Soman along with Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and singers Shweta Pandit and Madhushree were present at the conference. Milind Soman is actually a proud reformed smoker who has been cancer stick free for the past three years and the man says it was thanks to an organazition such as CPAA that got him to stop smoking. Hunkstar number two, Arjun Rampal, is in a more challenging position as he is still a smoker. Although the actor has set himself a goal to quit smoking by May 31st which is World No Tabacco Day. Here's hoping and praying that his goal succeeds.
5
