Their relationship is probably fine, it just others making a mountain out of molehill. Ash is probably spending more time with her mom and they both have projects going on. I guess negative news puts them in the spot light more but I feel it’s really rough that one person is made the villain. That negativity sticks, so I’m not in favour of such tactics to stay relevant. Also none of the families or those involved really comment on it, so their life is probably normal boring, they don’t need to add to the media/fan biz fire. They already blowing things out of proportion for them anyway.
