I don't think starring in a 100 crore movie means anything. Look at how Rajkumar Rao's other movies do outside Stree franchise; Kartik outside BB has been hit or miss.
So much depends on script and director...both main actresses have acting talent.
The audience has become extra critical of female-led films post-Covid.
And anyways, I can't think of female-led action film has worked very well in Bollywood.
Akira (2016) starring Sonakshi 2016 was very low budget.
Dhaakad starring Kangana flopped miserably.
Jigra flopped too.
Rani's Mardaani franchise is more of a "social-thriller" than action and doesn't fit the bill.
Same as Priyanka's Jai Gangaajal (2016) which was a crime drama.
The only one that worked to an extent was Naam Shabana (2017) starring Taapse, but that was pre-Covid times.

How would one analyze Shraddha in Stree II?
don’t know about “What happens to Alpha?”
but I can guess what happens after Alpha release.
Hit hua toh Alia Streep Bacchan ki, Flop hui toh Sharvari ki.
Hit hua toh Box office jeetega, Flop hui toh Audience ki dil jeetegi.
