Only positive thing about SMD over Mein is that Wahaj has put effort in his performance in SMD (notwithstanding the inconsistencies). And that BA dresses better than Zaid.

In MPHT, I was tired of the selfless ek tarfa pyaar of Saad after a while. But after SMD, I realize that at least Saad had other dimensions to his character - as a son, a brother. The breakdown he had at his father's death was so moving. And Saad and Neelo bro-sis duo were one of the best ones on ptv that year. SMD mai toh BA has no identity except being in one-sided selfless love with Sadaf.

In mein, zaid had a good character of a rich spoilt egoistic brat, but he wasn't explored at all. He was made to look like a sidey.

In mpht I agree he has scenes and bonds with others too. Still people tend to categorize saad and zaid as Wahaj's underperformanced character's and in terms of chemistry it. SH has been running this narrative for months that wahaj wasn't good enough in mpht and mein, neither he had chemistry with his coactresses in these shows. And go on to say that only tb was his good performance because he obviously was paired opposite the srk of pak.

In smd, though he doesn't have any dynamics except sadaf, but still he's being romanticized as this one sided lover, which wasn't done in mpht. BA is a shown as a larger than life character. Also the views of smd are better than mein. Mein first episode hit 30m after one year but smd has almost hit 20m in just one month.
