Absolutely get youโฆ itโs just that within the way we read the characters and analyse them, our sensibilities creep in and we put forth our perspectives. Itโs like thisโฆ you may think a certain behaviour justified and someone may not consider it as much of a mitigating circumstanceโฆ
Personally, I am also drawn to Aniโs character for practically the same reasons but when I analyse, I want to be able to also see his actions for what they wereโฆI wonโt justify the actions only because I empathise with the character. Itโs like thisโฆ I understand Ani took certain measures to keep Jhanak safe but he certainly did crossed some thresholdsโฆ I am not shy of discussing thatโฆ it doesnโt matter if we are justifying it for whatever backstory, trait etc but the point is it is out there..
bold - tbh I donโt know what is it that we are discussing here? Are you asking me why I have an issue with Aniโs portrayal during the aag track? And your point being why am I having an issue if Aniโs character has been clear from the start?I feel I have explained myself clearly. And frankly, Aniโs actions post aag vindicated my understanding of Ani. The very fact that he course corrected meant he rued his actions so whatโs the anomaly ? The narrative seemed to indicate that he had some doubt but wasnโt sure so he became a bit distant from her. If you feel that his actions were justifiedโฆ well I canโt counter that.. to me, the narrative became a bit loose thereโฆ coz the moment she was proved right and she left the home, they showed him regrettingโฆ My issue was that Ani even in his worst phase always looked out for Jhanak so the only reason he couldnโt have was his preoccupation with Arshiโฆ it wasnโt necessary to show him distant or antagonistic to that extent.
Itโs a difference in how we perceive the character. I am not going to argue on this further. I respect your viewsโฆ but I donโt feel the need to justify beyond what I have written above. ๐
@bold: Here, I was asking in what way has his character deviated from the beginning that it is considered to be character degradation...
And as you mentioned, he immediately course corrected, which he always does, but this time him course correcting is actually trying to forget his feelings for Jhanak and focusing on his current life and reverting to atleast try to support her like he did before... But this time, Jhanak herself took that choice out of his hands and for once, he accepted his fate...
I hope I'm making sense....
@bold2: And yes, it's clear there's a difference in perception here... So we can agree to disagree.
No offence intended.... Just trying to state my views...โค๏ธ
