Agree about archaic portrayal too, Bilal is so wattpad coded, he needed a wattpad writer not this man who writes for himself and not for characters

I think one the reason for the direction lacking is because they have shot sequences randomly.

Like first they shot all wahaj solo scenes and scenes with hira. Then they shot all maya scenes with family. Then they all came together to shoot mahaj, and scenes with others. Later on hira usama and maya shot their scenes which we are seeing now.

Haseeb hasn't directed it in order so that's why the flow seems to be lacking and disjointed. And he didn't understand to how pull the entire show together. He shot everything as standalone sequences.

Looking at the way show is moving,it will get more crticism and backlash in future..this is just the starting..this is really unfortunate for the actors because they aren't at fault here

My question is how come this show is getting so good youtube views in the first month itself? Is it because of Wahaj's stardom? Was this the same case in Mein?

This show could've have been the next most popular and viewed show on yt but sadly the awful direction is pulling it down.

Yes, wahaj is pulling in the audience. The episodes in which wahaj has more ss has more views. Epi 6 has higher views than epi 5, epi 8 has higher views than epi 7.

Mein also received good views initially but seeing wahaj have no screenspace in the initial episodes many stopped watching. Still it has on average 10m views on all episodes. And had superhit ratings on tv. That show also had good potential but they ruined it by not giving screenspace to Wahaj's character and the actual leads.

I have watched 80% of mein but even with good screenspace Wahaj character was badly written and had zero impact..and Wahaj character was like a side roleIn that aspect SMD is way better because all the tracks are revolving around Bilal Abdullah and his change of behavior even if SS is less...I just feel people are criticizing it too much I just feel like!!

Sadaf did not try anything,there was no struggle from her side,she directly went to sell herself

The thing that should have been shown as a toughest thing for a woman ,the writer made it the easiest way out

KRQ borderline showed Sadaf taking advantage of Bilal's loose character,it should not have been the case and that is why it looked stupid ,senseless and regressive

I hope the story forward will not be like this and there is something to come back

From SH and other reviews comments it does appear the damage is done

IDK why but I felt Sadaf wasnt in her right senses when she made the offer looking at the timeline and trauma she is going through.

But tbh,this was an important point in the story and people already lost the connect and it has been criticied too much so I can fairly say that SMD is already sinking or a flop

No one will watch the show or tune in for an interesting watch since the connect is gone for most of the viewers/reviewers..I just feel bad for the actors.

Esp Wahaj his project choice was a lot better before TB ,it seems he is signing everything coming to him

Having said that i will say if they can make viewers forget the selling part and move the story forward without mentioning it then also the damage can be repaired

I agree with reviewers sabse Chhota kaddu is a good actor but this is not a bhai behan show ,going forward they should focus more on leads and love story

For Wahaj, I feel like his character doesn't look bad on paper,that is,when he was reading the script..his character is interesting but the whole controversial thing made it look weird.

I don't think people will forget easily neither the makers..the first meet was most anticipated but it wasnt done well so the main connect is already gone(though for me,I enjoyed that scene)and I can sense the show is sinking..

And the way Haseeb and Maya are fighting back in social media it just shows their insecurities as they have already sensed it that show is gonna be a failure.
