I do not like TWs for some reason; the author practically gives away the theme with them! Rules are rules, and everyone must abide by them, but there will also be drawbacks!smiley1

Oh this author is known only for this series I believe. Unfortunately, she passed away. smiley19 She also writes lighter rom-coms as C.M.Owens.

I hear you about TWs but I'm the opposite. I prefer to know what I'm getting into and tbh the blurb tells you enough about the theme so I don't think it's really a spoiler. And I do think it's the required/ responsible thing to do in these days when there are so many mental health issues that can be exacerbated. Remember Mark Chapman and The Catcher in the Rye? Not saying the book is solely responsible for what he did and also not saying he wouldn't have done it otherwise but every form of media these days adds TWs at the start - you see it on OTT as well.

But since you've read it - I wanna ask you: Are the TWs justified? Are the scenes of child abuse and sexual violence too graphic? I wanna go into this fully warned

Sexual violence is graphic, liberally used adult language. Some triggers could be too much for the easily disturbed reader; they crossed the moral compass levels; read at your own risk. There are very detailed descriptions, which make you uncomfortable, but those are necessary to define the lady's hurt, both physical and psychological, and why she wants to indulge in that killing spree!

The Locked door - really enjoyed this one.

The Housemaid series

The Wife upstairs: read this one and Verity back to back and got pulled into a Rebecca/ Jane Eyre AU! smiley36

The above 3 are by Freida right? Housemaid series has been recommended to me too, and The Wife Upstairs I want to read only because I loved Verity sm.smiley42 But the stories are quite different right? If you liked Verity, you should try Layla by Colleen Hoover too.smiley36 Its a paranormal romance with a twist.

I think theres also another novel called The Wife Upstairs by someone else too

Local woman missing was good too but the ending lost me. - Havent read anything by MK before...will check it out

The silent patient - This one I read and really enjoyed! Its very rare that I love an ending of a thriller, im usually disappointed, but this was awesome.

None of this is true - this one was twisted af : couldnโ€™t put it down. I read another novel by Lisa Jewell, it was so boring that I dont even remember the name anymore. It was so predictable and her writing style bored me. If this one is twisted, I guess I'll give LJ another chance and hopefully she impresses me this time.

Have you read The Ex? I am itching to discuss it with someone.smiley36

Thatโ€™s one I havenโ€™t got to. I honestly read so many Freida books in a row that I was getting good at guessing her twists which makes me think I should give her a break smiley36
