Rishta has a legacy that can't be denied and it's cos every gen has had a descendant of Akshara Singhania as the female lead!! But as far as I remember, every gen right from the first gen has been about how the FL goes into the ML's family and thereafter builds a life around it.. hence whether we like it or not, the ML's family has always been at the middle of every track.. Singhanias, Goenkas, Birlas and now Poddars have literally been driving every track with the "legacy" heroine playing her part.. that's why these families (barring gen 3 maybe) have played a longer role in the show! Sorting the ML's equation with his family and generally making peace in the ML's family has been the baseline story of Rishta forever! And no AA can take out the ML or his family entirely.. even in the last gen, they didn't! So Armaan or Poddars for that matter ain't going anywhere anytime soon! They are the cast the makers have invested in and they won't let it go so easily..

Unfortunately this gen, to add to all the existing mess, here Armaan is a step child who is loved conditionally and has been conditioned to that selective, need based, reason based love from very young so he's acting out a bit too much cos his whole existence and identity has come crashing down and worse, it was done by the one person he thinks he owes his entire life to! It's very sad that Abhira is bearing the brunt of his internalization when she's hurting as well. Armaan will realize his mistake and I hope when he does, Abhira does give him a piece of her mind and call him out, but her role is still going to be to be there for him and sort out his familial issues until nothing else is left to do.. and atleast until then I don't see how there can be a leap or even the chance of another person or family..

You deserve the legacy viewer award for succinctly penning down what is the crux of Rishta across all 4 gens & I agree 100%. This is why even I feel right now its too early for them to go anywhere near a leap, coz right now all the relations are up in the air & the most important one is still taut. So till that gets resolved & Kaveri wholeheartedly accepts Abhira (and they actually also address the 2 most important tracks related to the leads themselves - IR & Shivani), any leap or separation seems moot.
