Ketamine is basically an upper. It’s a party drug but under controlled settings it can be used to treat anxiety and depression. Matthew Perry had gotten his legal and prescribed dose of Ketamine a week before his death from his own doctor. Sadly he also got more injected into his system by his assistant the day he died and the amount was past what’s a correct dose. It was probably the Ketamine that made him pass out in the pool and drown. Very senseless and avoidable. From his assistant or the seller to the doctor (not his personal doctor from what I understand) all of them contributed to his death and I agree with this step of charging them. However, it sounds like Matthew himself had also become dependent on more doses of Ketamine so his addiction was still a battle for him.

This is extremely sad

Good to know that the guilty will get punishment.. but 10 years is too short.. it should have been maximum punishment so that it serves as a lesson to others..

The hilarity of it..

A doctor who has taken the Hippocratic oath to save lives reneges on the very oath and ends up killing his patient and lo behold, he gets away with as much as 10 years of incarceration and suspension of medical license..

And then his patient who trusted him for his well-being lost his LIFE..

Judiciary all over the world has become a joke..

It’s ten years (actually up to ten years, actual time might be shorter) because he was charged with distribution of controlled substances and not actual murder. He has lost his medical license so whenever he gets out he won’t be able to go back to what he was doing.

I think so. But even his might be second degree murder or some other technical categorizations. He didn’t inject Perry with Ketamine with the intention of killing him (not that we know off anyway). I suppose it will also depend on how much Perry himself wanted that Ketamine. The assistant’s defense might argue that he was following his boss’ orders 🤷🏽‍♀️. What a sad tragic mess 😔
